Tamarind, Evoke makes this radio in several different colors. This is just the Orla Kiely edition. You could certainly get this in a solid color (in the UK anyway). Gorgeous! I especially love the light fixtures and that red bedding. I feel like we are seeing a gradual shift away from modernism and minimalism in AT house tours lately, which is awesome. Weather is a consideration, as lmk points out, although not my #1. I live in LA, so for me, it's preferable to move in winter, which isn't cold. I agree that the "original" isn't all that fresh. That's not to say I don't like it or think that ripping it off is acceptable, but it looks exactly like the trees-and-birds motif that's all over the place. Not a stupid idea at all. The Alamo Drafthouse screens films in historic or otherwise significant locations around the world, and the screen they travel with is a blow-up screen (really big though). I have Dansk Fjord flatware, which was reissued at some point in the last few years. Plenty of vintage Fjord trades on ebay, but for way more money than I could afford. It's not dishwasher safe, but we don't have a dishwasher, so that isn't a big problem. My boyfriend and I both love the look. BTW, I say "silverware" for all flatware, and I grew up in Hawaii. My parents are from Colorado and Nebraska, and they also say "silverware." My boyfriend just confirmed that he grew up saying "silverware" in Massachusetts.
