Thanks for all the suggestions so far! Yup, it was from Boomerang on Brunswick Ave in Jersey City. Love that store!

I usually boil some water, cut it off, and add one of those electrosol dishwasher tablets. let it sit overnight and then wash in the morning. It usually cleans up with no effort then.

One of the tricks the restaurant I used to work for used. I don't have a dishwasher now, but I still keep those tablets around for this purpose.

I made a recipe once for blue corn crusted snapper that was delicious.... it may have actually been a Bobby Flay recipe.

This weekend, I cleared out my freezer, except for a few logs of cookie dough and some ice cube trays and filled up the empty space with five chocolate cakes I'll be serving at my wedding on the 17th. Only three more to go, and my fingers are crossed they will all fit!

There was an article in the times sometime last year about cooking with really crummy wine, and how it didn't seem to make a difference. I cook with wine I don't like, or has passed its prime for drinking-- I will say, I've never deglazed, but I use it for my favorite pizza dough recipe, risotto, and other things.

Strangely, I too have a jar of moonshine jelly in my pantry. It was gift from North Georgia family (along with a jar of peach butter that lasted about 5 minutes).

One of my favorite meals lately is a sweet potato curried lentil dish(recipe was in the NY Times around Thanksgiving, as part of a vegetarian entrees article). Since we eat fish, we cook a piece of salmon and then break it up and mix it in the individual servings of curry. Its really delicious.

The sandwich my neighborhood place used to call the Ugly American: american cheese, peanut butter, banana, and fig jam on thick, white bread, pressed down to a panini. It sounds weird, maybe even disgusting, but it was absolutely delicious!

Mashed, and then baked with apples on top and brown sugar. It is the first thing to disappear every year.

1. My name is Carly
2. 2 Chandelier in black and iron vines in cocoa
3. In the last month, I got engaged and moved in to an old, brownstone apartment with superhard, reinforced walls that will probably survive an earthquake (if those start happening in NY), but make a pushpin or a nail almost impossible to get through. I've had my eye on the decals, but with an upcoming wedding, and saving for a house, I feel guilty somehow spending money on wall decals. But the white walls are driving me mad. The chandelier over my small book case, and the iron vines over the bed would finally bring some life to my apartment.

For a while, Fresh Direct also had them in stock. I'm not sure if they do anymore, but the Greenmarket is probably your best bet.

I've had them stuffed with cheese and fried, and I've also had a delicious taco with fried squash blossoms and crema.

Enjoy them!

Made a huge pot of Rancho Gordo Goat's Eye beans last night, so it will be beans and rice for a few days, which is a favorite of mine. Finished off with a couple Dove dark chocolate squares.

I have a spectacularly dumb cat named Turtle. He is loving and comical, but he needs a few more brain cells. For example, he is constantly on the look out for the stray bug that comes in to the apartment. When he spots one, he is surprisingly adept at catching the bug, but once it hits the ground, he runs under the bed and won't come out until we get rid of his catch.

Recently, he has taken a liking to cleaning products. The sunny orange scent of cleaning products lures him under the kitchen cabinet for a sniff, or lick, and Lord knows what else he eats while I'm gone.

I've gradually begun switching to Method products (he particularly likes the wood cleaner. Almond, mmm), and would love the chance to try them all out. As would Turtle.

Thanks!
