Haha! Well now I want to know everyone elses secrets! Maybe there should be a forum for swapping... I am in the SF Bay Area (Peninsula) and Craigslist has become impossible. Vultures is a good word for it - I am sure everyone has set up Google Alerts for key words because when I troll around the site, everything is already taken. Drives me bonkers. In September of last year, we found ourselves in a situation that we could have never imagined. My husband lost his job (he was our main income) due to economic downsizing with his employer and we were faced with the reality of "we will not be able to make our mortgage" for the first time. Ever. It was awful. On top of that, we bought in 2007 which means that our house was devalued by at least $80 - $100k. The only job opening was across country. We had to declare bankruptcy just to get out from under our home, cross the country and get work. When Housing Needs Change |

On a totally different topic ... I adore the little display next to the bed for all the figures! My daughter is 6 and would love to display her little finds in something like that! Under Bed Storage |

Same problem in my daughter's room! She is 4 and can be a little rambunctious so I have hung anything that could be knocked down AWAY from her bed. She also snuggles up to the wall. It just seems like this huge looming blank space. I am thinking about bunting... How To Fill This Big Empty Wall Good Questions |

I have a similar sad little rescue rack in my guest bedroom. I have been trying to decide what to do with it for years. You have inspired me to give it a new lease on life! I may even make it into a new side table by putting a tray on top. Great job! Before & After: A Modernized Luggage Rack |

I like both! I think that the after is certainly more functional and probably serves your family needs better. Love the desk. One Living Room Corner — Arranged Two Different Ways |

Oh! I love the faux-taxidermy with the pinata head! That was the first thing I saw this morning with my cup of coffee and I think it made my day. Such a great idea. I love any room that does not take itself so seriously - it reflects humor and love. Great job and lucky Posey! Poesy's Eclectic Vintage Nursery Nursery Tour |

Ohmigoodniss. It really is ugly as sin! And yet I can't stop looking. The setting may be influencing my reaction too. Cool yes. Hideous, yes. Do I want it? No. Do I want someone I know to own it so I can try it out? Definitely. Woodward Rocker - $150 San Francisco Scavenger |

Oh I love, love, love the cement gray walls! I have been eyeballing the IKEA beds for my girls after our move in a few months. They may be sharing a room for the first time (age 4 and 6.5). New place, new beds? They are so darling. The Rapunzel bedding is a find too. My Room: Princess & Firecracker New Jersey |

Adorable! My daughter is Parker Lindsay - so I am a big fan of the name (she turns six next month, sigh). This is such a well thought room. Beautiful job. My Room: Parker OliviaAkron, OH | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

I was making a jambalaya for my then boyfriend (now husband) in an effort to impress him with my amazing culinary skills. I melted a rubber spatula in to the roux while drinking wine and flirting - all secure and confident! Whoops! To this day, I can't order or make jambalaya without a "hmm, do you taste something different? Could it be ... plastic?" I used to be 100% against all leash contraptions. My 5 year old and 2.5 year old are both completely aware of how to behave, my expectations are firm and clear. I thought it was my excellent parenting (ha!). That said, I had my whole view shaken when my friend's almost 2 year old turned in to Houdini! That kid not only runs off, he runs off and never looks back. Seriously. Gone. Down the road, around the corner gone. He manages to unlock doors and sneak out of the house on a regular basis. He is so quiet! A room full of adults can't keep up with him. I don't think an electric fence could stop him. So leash? Sure - go ahead!
