There have been few moments in life when I get a glimmer of hope for furniture whether it be through aesthetics, function, or just pure concept. This is one of those moments. All furniture either functionally traditional or purely conceptual, forces the user to interact with the surrounding environment on a very personal level. 100% of the time furniture evolves on a level that involves details and technological advancement that is almost always invisible to the user. There are those few enigmatic moments when a concept is given form and function, which forces the user to change their perception of something as simple as having a conversation or just pure comfort. Even if you were enjoying this furniture by yourself, alone, in your house, there would be a slight bit of discomfort as a result of the forced positions. It deletes boundaries, traditions, and personality. You succumb to the forces of nature and furniture. Brilliant!

And to everyone at AT that can't get past this Vampire topic. What if the topic here was "Furniture for Butchers" or "Furniture for the Field Medic"? Get off of the topic of Vampires for a second, and I know it's really hard because most of you are so bent on popular culture you can't even wipe your own asses without thinking about a t.v. show or an advertisement that convinced you how to do it "right"! This is NOT furniture for the masses, nor do I believe it to be furniture with the intent of mass production. It is ART. Now, I know most of you wouldn't know what that was if it hit you in the face at 100 mph, but just for a second try to think out side of your normal, mundane boundaries. I know it's hard but try to design an interior for a fictitious client. Say a Pirate, or a Gnome.. (I'm just trying to pick characters that your simple minds can understand since you all seem to read is popular culture children's books and bad movies) What would your interior look like? How would the furniture adhere to those specific character's needs? Just try for a second to think differently. Then come back to this post and look at it though unfiltered eyes. When was the last time you felt unbelievably uncomfortable when sitting at table? Not because of the company you kept but because your arm was being offered to your company. Maybe you are embarrassed about the way your arm looks, or maybe your lover is amongst the group and can't take their eyes off of your delectable limb. This is the moment that makes this furniture excellent. The ability for furniture and interior spaces to create these moments is there, so take advantage of that. It may not be for clients but use it to catapult your mind to another level. And shut off the t.v. and get off the internet, it's clouding your judgement.

A color palette generator that generates the exact colors taken with a crappy digital camera? Wow, I was waiting for a program to come out that really pushed the boundaries of laziness and poor quality exhibited by so many "designers"/decorators in todays world. I suggest going out, buying some color books from a local paint store and learning the properties of color and how color reacts under different light and in different environments. Don't rely on a second rate photo, or web image, and a free computer program to tell you what color is being used. This is sad people! Knowledge, intuition and creativity are your keys to personal success in this industry. NOT some plug and play freeware!
