I am so trying this. I love the texture and flavor of American cheese (a complete childhood memory) but really don't ever want to buy it. Solution found!

I'm a neighbor too-- I've lived in OTR for 3 years and wouldn't live anywhere else. Great post!

Love this-- the first piece of furniture I bought when I bought my new condo was a bar. I'm an aspiring cocktailian, and it's so lovely to have everything in one place. Now I'm outgrowing the darn bar.

I also find it amusing that I was cheering "Campari! Hendricks! Pimms!" as I flipped through the pictures. Geek.

Am I the only person on the planet who cuts her corn off the ear, then applies butter? I've been doing it that way since I was a kid.

Imagine my surprise when I went to a Chicago White Sox game and had essentially that-- cut off corn with butter, but also with the addition of lime, cayenne, cotija and mayonnaise. Holy crap, was that good.

The memory foam topper on my standard Beautyrest is hot in the summer. I think I'd roast to death in a Tempurpedic.

This falls into the "something's got to give" category. I'm a naturally neat person, but with 60 hour workweeks, plus a social life, plus rest-- cleaning isn't a priority. I hired a lady to come in once a week, and she does things like change the sheets, mop the floors, clean the bathroom-- worth every penny I pay her (and I don't pay her many pennies).

If you don't want to have someone come in, I find watching Hoarders, Trainspotting or other movies/tv shows with intense dirtiness quite motivating. Having company over often helps too.

Ten-key refers to the numbers between 0-9. I think that's just the traditional term for a calculator that isn't scientific or graphing.

Either way, that's a great idea. I often miss the 10-key of my desktop computer when I'm using my laptop. It also seems designed to coordinate with Apple products.

I am ALL about the KfP Coke. I nearly danced in the aisle when I wandered into a Biggs in a very Orthodox section of town. People didn't stare too much at the strange woman squeeing over Coke, but seriously-- I'm stocking up for the rest of the year. I don't drink much non-diet soda at all, but when I do, I want it made with sugar!

Just curious-- do you have pets? I guess it's the same concept of cloth diapering, but I'm not sure. I should give it a trial run-- those cloths are great!

I have to walk through Pottery Barn to get to the Apple Store at my mall, and happened to ask if they had them. They did, and I picked a set up-- very sturdy, dishwasher safe, very nice! I also picked up the aluminum water bottle.

Oh, I would love this! It would keep me from buying San Pellegrino, and I could make awesome italian sodas.

I live in a 1600 square foot loft, I'm into fashion, and my closet is just unacceptable. I can't reach things. I can't find things. I forget I *have* things. Help me!

I love it for whipping egg whites into meringues (favorite use: angel food cupcakes), whipping cream, and occasionally mashed potatoes (when I'm lazy). Ooh, and bread dough.

I like silicone spatulas and baking liners; I dislike silicone baking cups. Someone out there makes silicone Bundt pans-- have no idea how those work, they just seem so flimsy.

The grill pan-- I'd make panini (who cares if I'd have to flip it over?) and with the dutch oven-- no knead bread and chicken and dumplings! Mmm.

To expand on my quoted comment (gee, I'm a celebrity)-- not only am I not getting married anytime soon, I just got divorced. Coincidentally, my interest in design really piqued when I had my own space to design entirely on my own. So, Martha, if you send me Weddings instead, you'll be rubbing some fleur de sel in my wounds. Thanks for your attempt at making me feel like a failure-- it isn't appreciated.
