How timely! I found and wrote about the oak plank style on my recent trip to Vermont the other day: http://ourhaus.blogspot.com/2013/02/bringing-vacation-home-amee-farm-vt.html

I never thought I'd like things so natural and organic as these headboards, but they do play nicely against stark, modern elements, too.

Hi Typingn, We recently renovated our mudroom, and while it is a little bigger than what you describe, I was collecting ideas for a long time for "mudroom" and "entry way" on Pinterest. Perhaps you can find some inspiration on my boards! http://pinterest.com/jodi_vautrin/spaces-mudroom-inspiration/ and http://pinterest.com/jodi_vautrin/spaces-entryway-inspiration/
When I finally get the final touches in the mudroom, I will post them to my blog: ourhaus.blogspot.com. Good luck! Constraints can sometimes make design easier!

Dare I say, the lamp on the floor is also from IKEA—not sure if they still sell it? I did a lot of IKEA in my office because it's a little more utilitarian than my living space. Also, I needed to offset the cost of my growing collection of mid-century pieces like Nelson lamps and original 50's Danish teak furniture. Basically, we need to offset the immediate needs with what we are trying to collect as heirlooms.

I'm so happy this is inspiring your work spaces! "Natomaton" is correct, the credenza is the EFFECTIV modular system from IKEA. The cart with the drawers you can find at thecontainerstore.com. The one on the right was Crate and Barrel but they stopped making it. Enjoy!
