Oh, how I wish my cat didn't like to unravel my towels, or I would spend some actual bucks.

Does anyone worry about bedbugs?? I guess we're pretty paranoid here in New York City. Any new towels go straight into the washer then dryer before coming into my apartment.

this is a great kithchen but that ladder would drive me crazy.

most definately a bed. you can put on it the bottom right corner. it looks like you've got some sort of built-in bookshelf in that corner. it can double as your bedside table. Use some sort of room dividing panel or double-sided book shelf seperating the bed from the rest of the room. looks like you could get a cute futon, coffee table and desk in the rest of the space. (since you already have a dining-type table built in.)

i love the aesthetic and the idea. HOWEVER the standard grill smells like old pennies. still very cool.

i agree about the 'we' thing.

I've lived with my boyfriend of 7 years (!) for 2.5 now. We'll get married one of these days, but if it's ain't broke, don't fix it!

We have a joint checking account to pay for bills, rent, groceries, eating out, etc. We each put a certain amount in each month... everything is split 50/50. It's completely easy and avoids anyone feeling like they're paying more than the other. We also have the same bank... so transferring money is a cinch. I pay my own bills and he does the same. We never have the "you spent how much on those shoes?" convo because we're spending our own money, not the joint money.

We, however, are both architects and make generally the same amount of money... this helps.

what?? you were drawn to them at the antique store. keep them! they're funky and cool. celebrate it!

i agree that real simple sometimes gives common sense advice, but the magazine (it's layout, recipes, images, even paper it's printed on) brings me calm.

magazine subscriptions are so cheap these days, although environmentally and economically excessive. i decided to keep it though simply for the relaxing evening i have the day it shows up in the mailbox.
