I won't chime in on the quality of JCP...but those ads on the Oscars were really remarkable... I would never say something like that, but I was moved to because they got something right.

it seems to me that you need to get the piece into another apt. and that place is the problem...If you are in s.f and perhaps dealing w/ a victorian with a twisty staircase as was my case, I discovered that removing a window, top and bottom, provided an opening wide and tall enough to allow a sofa to pass through...there are usually very thin wood pieces at the edges of the casement that can be removed and the rope attatched to the window weight is revealed when you swing the window out. (This is also a great way to wash the windows on the outside if you are above the 1st story)
