That's a great idea -- but then I read this: "We can not accept Hallmark, Disney or American Greeting cards."

That's like... 99% of the cards we get.

I read a bit, cuddled with my cat, cooked and ate in total silence, took a nap, got up to eat some ice cream, read some more, and fell asleep early. My husband was working, otherwise, it would have been impossible because the TV is always on. It was lovely, even though I felt bad that I can't enjoy the silence without falling asleep apparently! I know I could have played music, but I kind of liked not doing so. I even burned a nice-smelling candle.

Ah, we did this a couple of months ago. I'm much like @tryphe, and it was painful enough to do the last cull. Best I can do on today's assignment is do a bit better organization on the books in the bedroom. However, when we did our purge a couple of months ago, we got rid of probably about 100 books (ouch)!

I've been trying to read a lot more, so I'll just do that. Does it count if one of the books is on my Kindle?

Ugh. Our front door opens directly into our living room. There's plenty of room in our back room for this, but we park in front and never go in our back door because the alarm is set to trigger instantly back there. That leaves us with a roughly 12" span of wall to the left of the front door, which is currently occupied by an end table. With the end table there, there's no way to hang anything. Without the end table, there's no surface, unless we mount a shelf, which won't be enough for mail. And to be honest, I don't want mail cluttering up our living room side table.

So right now, we bring mail into the kitchen and try our best to keep it culled as it comes in, and sort what we need to keep into a temporary mail sorter that sits on our kitchen counter. That's where our key/change/etc tray currently sits, as well.

We live in Florida, so there aren't a lot of coats around. The dog leash is currently in the kitchen junk drawer. My purse goes on the dining room chair. Could we benefit from a more cohesive setup? Sure. But like @ecandle96 said, with a full-time job, I don't really have a ton of time today to go shopping and set up a nice, functional, permanent, attractive landing strip.

I might pop into Target later and do my best.

I just did this the other day and it felt great. Got rid of a bunch of pins I no longer want, too.

I love the idea of creating something to hang, but in the end, we're going to finally frame a great black-and-white photograph of the pre-9/11 skyline that my husband bought at the art museum last year. He's from New York, so it really resonated with him.

I'm going to tackle our master bedroom closet! So many clothes that need to be donated, better organization needed, etc. Just piles of shoes in a corner, piles of purses on a high shelf, blah!

The toilet seat is CONSTANTLY coming loose. It's vexing because it doesn't do that in the other bathroom. All the parts seem to be there and working fine. It's such a pain to constantly retighten it. Otherwise, the hall bathroom is pretty decent. We could use more storage in the master bath (which, while in the master bedroom, is actually much smaller than our hall bath) and will be looking for some over-the-toilet shelving and valet options this year.
