creme brulee

A cheaper (and less waste-ridden) way to produce perfect steamed veggies in the microwave is this:

1) place fresh or frozen veggies into correct sized cereal or pasta bowl
2) add ~ 2 T water
3) place a plate on top of the bowl (round plates with slightly slanted sides work best, you want a decent seal)
4) microwave
5) use slotted spoon to serve.

Be very carefull when trying out rue - some people are allegic to it (and I'm not sure about pets). My sister and I are VERY allergic to rue, which we learned when my mother planted it in her herb garden. To my knowledge this is the only thing I'm allergic to.

what size can of chickpeas?

I'm thinking of trying this recipe but using cinamon sticks and fresh ginger to infuse the cream for several hours and straining before moving on to the next steps. (in fact, with this method you could flavor the caramels with any combination of spices).

movie soundtrack would be virgin suicides. but really, I would use it to listen to NPR in HD

for a quick, filling meal I'll fill up a veggie quesadilla and throw it on the grill.
