Flying back from London to Brazil last year, I got sick with plane food...It was a meat served with a weird sauce, really dark, and I didn´t eat all of that...It really sucks to feel sick in a plane just an hour after I ate that...I have a friend who got sick with pasteurized orange juice served on a plane...
I understand the fact when we don´t want to be rude or not polite with people from other country...I almost refuse a hot chocolate served on a really dirty mug from a tour guide from Santiago...I drank it and nothing happened...got luck!

Beautiful! I would love to have a room like this, very feminine but not being too girly, modern, clear and wonderful! I would just remove the mickey/minnie from the dresser.
My favorite room so far :) Congrats!

Hi,
Nice pictures of my hometown city! There´s a lot of beautiful places to visit, plus a ton of good restaurants, that´s bad it was just two days...And a lot of design/decor stores for sure :)
It must had been a nice even at Casa e Jardim, I´m just not a big fan of Marcelo Rosembaum, I respect his work though.
Come back anytime :)

Another brazilian here :) Great pictures, though I never had been in Rio (it´s a shame, just 1 hour flight!). I´m from São Paulo, and looking forward to see the pictures from my beloved hometown :) I bet you felt difference between the two cities, not just because Rio have beaches and São Paulo don´t, but mostly because of the way of living.

Brigadeiros are my favorites! I´m brazilian, and this candy is mandatory in all birthday parties for sure :) It´s very easy to make, it´s a can of condensed milk, two or three spoons of chocolate powder, a little bit of butter, and you have to stir it up in a pan, until it bubbles or left the bottom of the pan. Let it cold a little bit, make small balls (don´t forget to put a little bit of butter in your hands, to not stick it) and roll them in a granulate chocolate. Or just grab a spoon and eat it :)

Just to make a note, I think you change the description (Sopapillas to Picarones). I tried Sopapillas in Santiago last month, they are fried pumpkin doughnuts, you can eat them with chilli or not. It´s really delicious :)

It´s really delicious! I tried one when I was in Montevideo two years ago. Really good :)

As a good brazilian, I love all these dishes! The best moquecas and shrimp bobós are in northeast brazil, they are divine. Pão de queijo is always good anytime, specially if they are together with a nice cup of coffee. And brigadeiro is a candy which always have to make presence at any kind of birthday party. It´s tradition :)
(sorry for my english).

The effect is beautiful, but...how do you wash your bathroom with water and soap regularly without this thing peel?

Lonely planet is a good guide, though I use more tips I find around the web, specially some travel websites. You can check it out at http://www.buenosaires.gov.ar/areas/turismo/home/
It´s the tourism part of a government website they have, it´s good specially the map parts, where you can see each neighborhood with details, etc. The website it´s in english too...
They have a good and small (pocket size) map of the city at the Tourist Information kiosks, don´t forget to get one at the first day, I used a lot.
I really love Buenos Aires, I went there for the first time in 2007 to spend a week, I fell in love with the city :) It´s time to go back there soon (it´s just 2h30mins by plane from São Paulo, where I live). If I could, I would live there easily :)
Don´t miss Palermo neighborhood (a lot of nice and well designed restaurants, bars and stores), walk through the beautiful parks through the city, museums, etc; don´t forget to try Freddo dulce de leche ice cream for me :)
Have a nice trip!

As a designer too, I have been working from home since I quit my job last year...It´s been great not to face the stress of commuting every day...I am very self-disciplined person, so I look to go to some client visit once a week during the morning, so I can get back home, have a lunch and then start to work...I don´t mind to be in front a computer until 8:00pm, as long as I take some snack break...It´s so good not to spend the whole day hearing boring chit chat from co-workers, of course, not all of them...I still have contacts with my best "two ex-coworkers" at least once a month, to talk and have fun as we had in old days office...But I don´t miss the 9 to 5 days...

Nice house! As a brazilian and a person who already had been in this beautiful beach village, there´s lot of Trancoso style, like bright and happy colors, a lot of wood, natural fabrics, the bed...Beautiful :) The only thing I don´t agree with this decoration is Tord Boontje lamp and the golden pig. I think the lamp is beautiful, but doesn´t fit this place...And the golden pig...No coments.

I voted for Melanie and Dave...Jesse´s entry is not my taste, and it´s my less favorite from all entries. I can´t believe it´s in the finals.

Nice place :)
Just an observation...Maybe I´m wrong, but it seems some surfaces were generated on computer? Living room floor, kitchen cabinets and bathroom tiles...Looks so perfect with weird shadows...Anyone had the same impression or it´s just me?

As a good brazilian, I love some caipirinhas...My favorite is the traditional with lemon, when you cut in slices or pieces and smash it up a little with sugar, then put cachaça and ice cubes...Try to do with mashed stawberries or with a passionfruit...Or kiwi...It tastes delicious!
