I did the whole fabric and cornstarch thing at my last apartment. It destroyed the walls. I spent more time filling in with spackle the places where it tore away the layers of paint than I did actually putting the entire thing up. Never again.

We are going to have ours made. If I was at all handy with a sewing machine I would do it myself but I am not so...I get to pay someone with more talent than myself to do it.

Just to clarify...we live in Los Angeles.

I will definitely look into contacting fair housing. I am sure they will be able to tell us the legality of the situation. Our current plan is to tell our landlord this coming Tuesday so...I guess we will have to see what he says/does.
