Tankless water heaters have their pros and cons. If installed correctly you will love them, if installed incorrectly you will hate them. Here is a quick summary of the pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Never run out of hot water. A tankless water heater will provide endless hot water, the water heater must be sized correctly.
2. Small in size, they are the size of a suitcase. You can regain the space for storage.

Cons:
1. They are expensive to install: * venting has to be changed. * Gas line may also need to be changed.
2. Hard water will damage a tankless water heater faster than a tank water heater. Ask your installer to test the hard water before installing a tankless. The hardness should not be over 11 grains of hardness.

Recommendations:
1) Install one of the largest manufacturers: Noritz or Rinnai Tankless water heaters.
2) Use a very knowledgeable installer. Visit manufacturer and get a couple of bids.
