I agree with adamwa...there is nothing better than fresh roasted broccoli straight out of the oven with a little fresh parm sprinkled on top...the next day nuked it's edible and still tasty, but it certainly doesn't make my eyes roll back into my head like it did the night before.

Ooorrr, put pot in sink with stopper, add a few reusable ice packs, add water. Repeat if necessary with fresh packs/cold water. This is usually enough after 20 minutes or so to move the soup or broth into smaller containers and refrigerate/freeze.

Made it a while back, hated it. Love bananas, banana ice cream and milkshakes. No idea what went wrong here but the aftertaste was weird.

I grow wheat grass and catnip for my kitty on the screened porch too -- I let him out on it daily to munch and rub but the dummy STILL wants to nibble on the few green things I can manage to keep alive inside.

I had to hide the snake plant in the bedroom (keep door shut during the day) and my philodendron way up on the china cabinet...danged if I don't still find the occasional kitty teeth marks in those too! You'd think after the first bitter encounter he'd learn to stick to the wheat grass :P

The door release catch broke on ours last week. Immediately afterwards I wanted instant oatmeal, popcorn, warm tortillas and leftovers for dinner!

Since then I've retaught myself to reheat food in the oven or a skillet, thaw food in the fridge and soak in cool water if its still a bit frosty.

Parts are coming in this week to fix it, but if it wasn't a built-in I think I could do without it entirely.

I love this soup! My version uses some chicken broth, diced ham, diced onions, corn, celery, chives etc veggies. I will often thicken it with a submersion blender (but don't over blend- the thick chunky is the glory of this 'choup') instead of adding cream and milk. You can add instant potatoes too as a thickener. A great time saver tip is to just nuke your potatoes whole and dice them up right out of the skin!

Chicken Spinach Pasta - penne, sun dried tomato chicken sausage, froz spinach and a jar of sundried tom or roasted red pepper alfredo...to die for! I add diced peppers, onions, fresh parm and a side salad.

Dang. Closing on our first house, I'm already eyeing one Cabin Red wall for his Superman themed office (he's a fanatic, I'm just trying to give him the outlet/space for the collection); dramatic dark blue over the white bead board in the hall bath; gray in the living room. Haven't decided on kitchen (keep the white cabinets) or bedroom (blue again?) but yeah, it's my first chance to pick colors and I bet I'll end up with at least 3 colors my inlaws will hate LOL.

Any tips to help the flow from one room to another? I can close the office door but living room is open to dining is open to kitchen so I'd love to tie those in somehow.

Height of counter for stools. Width, depth, height of cabinets or shelves for organization aids. Amount of item needed to store (size jars, etc. for pantry supplies like beans, pasta, flour, sugar - do you usually buy 2 or 5 lb bags). Height of dishes that will fit in your dishwasher (my MIL bought a new dishwasher, only to find her Butler's Pantry dishes don't fit in!). Number of knobs, drawer pulls for total replacement.

My cat loves the grass I grow for him indoors. I currently use wheat grass I think? I got huge bags of the stuff pretty cheap. My only question is -- how do you keep it 'pretty'? It grows tall and fast and as outer layers die I'm constantly trimming it with scissors. I feel like I need a little hand mower! Should I find a different seed? I usually end up keeping a square plot for a few weeks then tossing it to start over with a clean slate.

Any tips for cat owners? I've read that most of the herbs I'd like to eat (parsley, basil, oregano) are safe for my cat as well, but what can I do to keep him out of them indoors? My window options are limited (only 2 get about 8 hours light), and Chaos will even come sniffing at my celery and onion bag before I put up the groceries. He's ruthless with attacking anything green indoors and I've kinda given up plants minus one philodendron hiding way up on a china cabinet ...and I've even seen teeth marks on that one on occasion. (And yes, I try to keep growing kitty grass just for him in his window.)
