I like these rooms, but I also understand earlier comments: these rooms are lovely, but so very appropriate. I want to go into each one and add a few pops of color, texture and (gasp!) irony to give each space a little more energy. These rooms don't want for elegance, but they do want for spirit. That said...I'd be thrilled to live in any of them!

Adore. Max, I suspect you and I could sit down with a cocktail and talk into the wee hours. Ignore the haters here. Unfortunately the first few comments were bad ones, and that always seems to set a bad tone. Hope you have enjoyed the positive comments despite the nasty ones.

So refreshing to see a home that looks like it grows and evolves with the owner. Nothing static about this place: it's alive and changing and fresh. I adore the gay Christoper Robin.

Totally love the new format! Helps me avoid disappointment when I can see WHERE things are available first :)

Seems like we're damned if we do, damned if we don't. That said, I have learned so much about toxins since my daughter was born. I started out researching flame resistant chemicals used in infant pajamas and discovered a whole world of scary stuff - in the foam in couches and cars, in electronics, in the materials used to build the homes we live in. I am not a paranoid person, and I don't believe in conspiracy theories. These toxins are scary because they are absorbed through the skin via off-gassing and they stay in our systems for a LONG time, AND they are endochrine-disrupters, which means they mess with our hormones. When it comes to kids/infants, they absorb more toxins because their skin isn't able to metabolize the chemicals at the same rate as adults, so the toxicity levels build up....and can lead to things like infertility. A single carseat isn't the problem - but the aggregate effect of years of exposure is a problem.

I love that you are proud of having put the furniture together yourself. It shows in your home! So bright, cheerful, and unique. I want to pop over for a cocktail...and then maybe try on your cool shoes. I am so impressed that you can wear those and they look awesome on display. Lovely home.

I rolled my eyes and groaned the first 20 times my husband said he wanted this. But now I own one (bought the REI floor model at major savings) and LOVE it. Here's why: it is basically a room on wheels. My daughter is totally enclosed, but can see everything going on. We stash snacks, drinks, and books in the inside pockets so she can just entertain herself while I do errands. She stays warm and dry (we live in Seattle) any time of year (and yes, it's STILL raining in July). There is something about the fact that it is enclosed that she loves - since she was 6 months old, until now at age 3.

We live in an urban area, and I don't do any exptreme sports, but I do love it for daily errands, walks at the park, etc.

Love the shelf. Hate the phrase "you can never be too thin" used in opening line. Too thin = unhealthy, disturbed, or dead....

...but the shelf is cute!

mjs7640 - I love that you clean for your dead mother. That is both sweet and funny at the same time.

I adore this! Fun and themed, in a home-grown kind of way. Kid parties are getting so slick and branded these days. I like the vibe of this one.

The bathroom faucet in my house growing up looked like this for 12 years...it was always fun explaining to friends who came for a sleep-over that "it works just like a regular faucet."

I use a light bulb ring and put essential oils in it. It's easy and fills the air more evenly than a candle.

Wow. I am one of those wierd people who really gets into Halloween. I have an annual party and we try to go all out. And even I think that hand is disgusting...my stomauch turned just looking at the picture.

The melon brain, on the other hand, is awesome. Our neighbor made that for our party last year and it was a big hit. As was the buffet made up of Dracula's collection of gross things: scabs (corn flakes), goblin toes (mini hot dogs), maggots (plain maccaroni noodles), and eye of newt (grapes).

Love this! Love that so many people are passionate about typeface!

Noticed a typo:...last sentence reads: "we can show are appreciation..." Should read "our".

Shadows in a nursery are very enchanting, and I imagine this light casts some very cool ones in the late afternoon and evening. I love that you can customize the cutout shapes. Very cool idea - especially for the price.

Thanks and good luck!

love. love. love. This is one of those perfectly balanced homes that makes you want to curl up on the couch and ask a million questions about all the beautiful and interesting things in it. Every little piece tells a story. Ultimately, makes me want to know Brian!

I think the printer on the floor, jammed in the corner pretty much says it all.

I saw the show where they placed this "thing" and the drawers, inexplicably, are on the opposite side of where you sit.

I must be missing something because I don't understand where one sits...is there supposed to be a chair?

This looks so lovely - but since I live in a major earthquake zone, I cringe when I think of a mirror near a sleeping baby.

Visits to the grandparents are a joy - for everyone but me! We make frequent visits to my inlaws and I just breathe deeply to make it through each trip. Rather than ask them to reinvent their entire house and lifestyle for our toddler, I choose my battles and just stay close to my daughter. I also use these visits as a warning to my future self: don't collect a bunch of stuff you don't need. My inlaws are burrying themselves in bric-a-brac.
