I agree with getting things away from the walls. You have a lot of space. I'd make the couch face another direction to create a floating living room anchored by the rug. You don't need to focus all of your attention on the tv when you're sitting down and relaxing. Move the dining table out- Feels a little to dorm roomish pushed up against the wall. And more art, no bed on an angle. Good Luck- you've got great stuff to work with! Good Questions: How Can I Improve My Layout? |

I would paint the brick a neutral color if you're allowed to. I would make the bed into a couch during the day and a bed at night. Sometimes dividing a small space just makes the room feel cluttered. Or if you feel like the room is huge maybe you can get a japanese screen at the flea market or Pearl River Good Questions: What Color Scheme Would Work Best for this Room? |

Joe's Fabric Warehouse on Delancey in the lower east side. They have a huge selection of home furnishings fabrics and the price wasn't horrible. I found it easier to pick out the fabric there and do it all at the same time. Good Luck! Good Questions: Who Can Recommend a Good Upholsterer? |
