Since we're going to be doing a lot of decluttering and that's what's largely on my list, I'm going to reorganize so my boyfriend has more space for his stuff and move some furniture around so we make our empty second room more functional.

...books are for reading, not destroying.

if you don't want your books anymore, there is a goodwill nearby who would love to take them. or a church or a library that would love donations. or maybe you could start a book-shelf at your favourite cafe where you invite regulars to "leave a book, take a book."

This is just as bad as stupid lauren conrad's stupid craft idea that everyone hated. I am trying really hard not to use expletives.

A good bluish grey is Platinum by Ben Moore. I recently painted my walls this colour (on top of blue, so it went a bit bluer) with a brown couch. It worked really well, making everything look more elegant. Now I've swapped in a cream leather couch and it still looks sharp.

It may be darker than you'd like though. It's very much a grey.

jk. I agree with the bath thing.. I can't "get clean" in a gross tub.

mostly though I get on spontaneous cleaning sprees because I get anxious with too much crap lying around.

Books, usually, because they fit easily into boxes and are really heavy (so they sit at the bottom of the pile).

Maybe take the cabinet doors off a few of the flat ones to open up a little space/change things. I'd only take the doors off ones used for dishes/glasses unless you happen to have a colour-coded-and-alphabetized grain collection. And change the backsplash.
