Our nightmare CHATHAM & WELLS mattress and SLEEP CITY in Santa Rosa, California have been one of the horrible experiences of my life!!! The story began 2 years ago, 2 weeks after our wedding when my husband and I used our wedding gifts to afford ourselves a bed! Within 6 months we were calling the store. Yes, we did all the right things acording to the manual but a hill had formed down the center of the bed, which I blamed on the "box spring" foundation and or the frame that came with the bed as it all never seem to sit exactly right either. It was 1 1/2 years before I convinced them to send for an inspection. And, of course, like the other stories you read here, the letter came back that our bed was "normal". We spent a lot more than we initally wished to in order to get this so-called great bed! This bed was sold to us as the best thing we could buy for my fibromyalgia, which, (as you would expect by the time of reading all of these posts) is worse now than ever and my husband is now also seeing a chiropracter regularly. It has been a NIGHTMARE!!! We finally got the store to exchange the bed, but when we got there to pick out our new one we were informed they were only switching the mattress, not the foundation. We were convinced (our 2nd mistake) to buy furniture to accomodate the new mattress with no foundation, we did not want to use the old foundation as we thought it contributed to the problem in the 1st place. The furniture was a second nightmare & we had to get them to take it back. So at present, we are sleeping on the floor, with a new firmer C&W matrress & no foundation. It is slightly more comfortable so far, no hills & valleys, but it has been only a month. If I could I would return it too, for a full refund and go somewhere else to buy a different brand. Both the store and the company were unfriendly and unhelpful and if there is a CLASS ACTION SUIT count us in! By the way, the marraige is holding up much better than the bed!!! PEACE Good Question: What's a good mattress to get? |
