I'm not sure if he's getty cockier, or if they're just editing him that way. Hard to say. I thought he came off as a tad neurotic last night and Padma just hit on it.

Word Market or Cost Plus sells the various Kinder chocolates. I get my son Kinder "Happy Hippos" all the time for his lunch.

I was glad to see my favorite garden gnome Kevin during the ads. I love how they cleaned him up too. LOL. I also had Tiffany picked to go home. Glad it wasn't Carla. She's just too cool.

Is it me or is it the editing? but is Blaise getting a little full of himself?

We will so miss Fabio. Seriously, couldn't they have taken Mike instead?

OK, the foam gets to me big time. Who wants to eat something that looks like spit or ejaculate? I mean seriously??? I hear Boudain has an interesting comment regarding the foam on his blog. Gotta love that man.

So glad Dale & Blaise (and their team) won.

I think Jen needs a little therapy to un-do whatever it is her Daddy did to mess up her attitude.

Oh, and that wasn't meant as a diss against SW sets. We have several actually. I just thought it was funny how he keyed in on this one. It really is adorable and the details are great.

We were in Legoland a few months ago. It was a major pilgramage for my (now) 6 yr old. I told him he could have any Lego set he wanted (within reason -- those things get expensive). He combed through the entire store and when he saw this set, he wouldn't let go. He *had* to have it. He didn't care about the Star Wars sets -- it had to be this one! We built this a few days ago and it's now our Christmas centerpiece. I love it! I can see us buying more of these village sets in the future.

Oooh saw the preview for next week. Kevin is foregoing his garden gnome look for a more troll doll look. I love it! Poor Jennifer, that hair. She really tries. The brothers, they're just too cute but once that younger one opens his mouth....

I think Art nailed it. In the end, it's not the technique so much as taste and presentation. While Kevin's was simpler, it clearly tasted better and was better cooked. Bryan probably could have nailed it with a few more hours but that was not to be.

I really appreciate what Keven (and Eli -- we'll miss him) are doing. Yeah, the V brothers make these elaborate, complex dishes but to me they're just not as interesting. It's like those French aspic turrine things. Yeah they look pretty I suppose, but the taste?? Not to sure.

Oh sweet jesus this is good. I did a little of my own tweaks. First, I threw in a pinch of salt with the flour. second, instead of almond extract I threw in some orange zest. I highly recommend doing this. I baked it with the pecans on top (again with a pinch of salt). YUMMMM

Kevin (my favorite cooking garden gnome) and the v-boys in the final. Jennifer just can't seem to handle the pressure and Eli's judgement is just too iffy. I mean, come on, that "soup" looked like barf. He's just lucky he didn't get sent home.

One more thing... how is this any different from what the Boy Scouts or Adventure Guides do. I'm just saying.... I think using this as an educational starting point is a great idea. Let's give Morgan a break and some credit here.

I think Morgan's mom brings up some very good points and background here. (Yay mom!).

I think some people are totally taking this too far. Maybe it's the cake? I'm just curious as to how a Native American might take this.

On the other hand, what if her son asked for a chalet party? Would people be offended if the children wore leiderhosen? I mean, the Nazi's were German. What if her son wanted a sleigh party? The Inuits have been equally as oppressed. Yes, Native Americans were horribly horribly wronged in this country to put it very mildly. But can a person reference, much less honor or borrow from, their culture without being considered racist? It's a sticky wicket isn't it?

OK, is it just me or does Mattin remind anyone else of Spongebob Squarepants. Seriously. Right down to his earnest blue eyes. Vive l'Epongebob!
