Hi there everybody -

First and foremost, thank you Gregory for the fantastic and thorough review.

Secondly, if anyone does read this and has specific questions about the vacuum, please feel free to email me directly at amchenry@halocompany.com. I am happy to field any questions you may have.

Thirdly, regarding Stacey's comment: We have accepted your return and are inspecting your unit. Stacey purchased our other model, the Halo UVX, and felt it was loud so we accepted her return without question, as she was participating in our 30-day risk-free trial. It was our understanding (and recorded in our records) that she simply wanted to return the vacuum and would consider the UV-ST once it came out in stores because she was interested in attachments. It was our understanding that the transaction was complete and we sincerely apologize for any confusion.

As a newer company, it is our utmost concern and goal to ensure our customer's satisfaction. Stacey, if you are dissatisfied in any way, please let us know and we will be happy to rectify the situation. If there was any miscommunication, we certainly apologize and hope to keep you as a member of the Halo Family.

Thank you,
Ashleigh

Apartment Therapy - Halo UV-ST Ultraviolet Vacuum in the Test Lab
10/11/07 6:33 AM

Hi there!

I am Ashleigh McHenry and I work for Halo...the company that makes Halo Ultraviolet Vacuums. Believe it or not, wands like this, and our vacuums are designed to work under a second to kill dust mites, viruses, bacteria, you name it...in your carpeting and beds. labchick is absolutely right however about it "deactivating" the DNA of these micro-organisms.

The nice thing about our vacs (not to toot anyone's horn...I don't get paid a penny anyways) is that when it's on the bottom of the vacuum, we have actually set in place MULTIPLE safety switches to prevent users from exposing themselves to the UV light. whatever little bit that might glow out from the edges of the powerhead is just like being in the presence of sunlight...it won't damage your eyes or skin. It's just like sunlight...if you stare into it...or lay out for 8 hours everyday, of course, there will be damage done. But with the design of the bulb chamber, you don't need to vacuum for any longer than normal...the reflectivity of the bulb chamber creates the exact irradiance to kill these creepy-crawlies on contact.

I'd love to be a resource for this kind of thing if any of the readers out there have any questions. Our website is www.gethalo.com. If you have allergies, asthma...even pets...this is a great site to check out if you get a chance. And feel free to contact me personally at amchenry@halocompany.com if you have anymore UV questions! Thanks for your time!

Apartment Therapy - Wide Coverage Germ-Eliminating Wand

I'd give a look to the Halo UVX. I am actaully the Web Content Manager for them, and I'd look at www.gethalo.com. I don't get any commission or anything...I just have a Halo and I love it. I have terrible allergies, and a dog tha sheds like crazy. The difference between a Halo and the rest of the vacs out there is that the Halo has an ultraviolet light on the bottom...to kill germs, dust mites, mold, bacteria you name it. It uses the same technology that cleans our drinking water and hospitals. With no harmful chemicals for your children.

Just give us a look. I just do the website...but I love my Halo.

If you have any questions - anyone out there...give us a shout! amchenry@halocompany.com.
