In my sweet south, pimento cheese is kind of a religion! Other than Palmetto, there is only homemade! http://www.southernbellesimple.com/2011/03/anti-recipes-homemade-pimento-cheese.html From Elite to Everyday: A History of Pimento Cheese Independent Weekly |

This sounds delish! It's funny how we southerners use mayo as a base ingredient for so many things. I attended Blissdom (the blog conference) and was interviewed by somebody from ConAgra foods about what I always have on hand in my kitchen no matter what, and of course my answer was mayo! They looked at me funny, but I don't care. I'm making this soon! Summer Grilling Recipe: Smoky Corn & Jalapeno Dip |

I am in the midst of participating in my very first CSA and I'm loving it! So far I've learned I actually do like turnips, I can turn almost any greens into a yummy pesto and "killed lettuce & onions" is a guilty pleasure! Thanks for the tips! How to Get the Most Out of Your CSA |

I've heard of putting bubble wrap over your windows during the colder months....it would impede the view, but not the light coming in since it's clear. My place is cold too and I hope some others have tips! Easy Tips for Warming Up My "Freezing" Apartment? Good Questions |

Oh my collections vary from antique ironstone, to mismatched silver to white platters and postcards of magical places....I was raised in a family of collectors so I really didn't have much of a choice. it's a cute idea in theory...but my granny wouldn't be too happy if i used her beloved jewel tea bowl as a hanging lamp. i guess in the south, we get kind of attached to things... ;) DIY Ceramic Pendant Lights Country Living | Apartment Therapy DC |

i was going to make the velveeta/rotel dip but was on a health kick and thought i'd use healthier cheese instead. the cheese never melted and to this day, my friend asks me about my "watery cheese soup." ...not my finest moment ;) Tell Us: Have You Ever Had a Dinner Party Disaster? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

i'm more interested in what the posters names are (if the user name doesn't give it away). my mom loved katherine hepburn so she named me kate (not katherine, just kate) and i've always loved my name. its short and not difficult. although i detest being called katie. i met a few other kates through high school and college, but for the most part, i was the only one in my circle. i live alone and sometimes i find myself putting off certain cleaning chores until i know i'm having houseguests, so i can relate to your friend a little bit. my advice (which i try to follow) is do one room (or area) every night of the week as soon as you get home. it isn't fun when i'm tired from working all day, but at least this way by friday i have a tidy house and don't have to spend my days off doing chores. this might not be what you are going for here, but once when i was very upset at work (crying! eek) my co-worker handed me a nerdrope (the candy that is like liquorice with nerds stuck to it) and i was so touched. he knew i loved them and had one he was saving for himself but in that moment he was willing to share it with me. i never ate it and still have it, because it reminds me of how friends help us get through tough times. my all-time favorite crock pot recipe is for italian beef...put a 1-2lb beef roast, a package of italian seasoning (like the kind to make dressing with), a jar of pepperocinis, and a can of beer in the crock pot and let it cook for 8 hours. the tastiest! one thing you could do to change the look is cut a piece of grasscloth or burlap and cover up the mirror. you can stick it on there with double-sided tape. i have a sideboard like this and covering the mirror drastically changed the look. then when you want the mirror back, you can always take it off.
