Ikea releases a catalog filled with new and favorite products every year and yes, it is VERY. MUCH. ANTICIPATED. In addition, Ikea is a major player in the design world. They have elevated affordable design for many college students, young home buyers and families. Last time I checked, following such innovators and trends is a major function of Apartment Therapy. Why else would you be here? It's ok not to like everything you see here but seeing a dedicated post about a HUGE design company is not unheard of. And no, I don't work for Ikea. Sunken living/family rooms, woodsy backyards, painted portraits of children, walls of art hung all the way to the ceiling (some it framed art created by my friends), fireplaces in bedrooms, living "common" areas on the top floor with bedrooms on the bottom floor (stairs up a hill to the front door), large glass exterior walls. It's been quite a while since I was impressed with the quality of Target's "designer" merchandise. I think the best quality item I purchased was the beautiful Libertine dress in rippled cotton that doesn't require ironing (I love that dress). So, no... I did not rush to Target this morning. I love that the kitty litter box is in the bathroom! That's life. And it's kind of funny that it's right next to the toilet. I had a litter box in my bathroom until recently. I swear, my cat would pee when I peed just to bond with me! I had a baby recently, and the cat is not getting the love. I think it's important to keep it real when posting pics of small homes.
