@Wawasa, Thanks, I just bookmarked the four links you recommended and also will check out the Homies contest entrants. I stayed despite AT's recent reorganization, but this post motivates me to reconsider its competitition.

Besides, there already are plenty of valid AT relationship-oriented posts. Remember the ones posted before the holidays every year dealing with parties, stay-over guests, and in-laws? What about the posts about couples and roommates in conflict with each over territory and decision-making in their homes? Aside from increasing false hits, why drag discussion of porn into AT? It can only backfire big time.

is the link I was remembering. Some of the tecniques may be the same. You may want a temporary lip around the top to control the mastic or whatever until it dries.

Or is this perhaps a Mother's Day misguided joke?

They may just repeat many helpful responses here but, as I mentioned, you also could ask Library of Congress Digital Reference Section staff: http://www.loc.gov/rr/askalib/ask-digital.html
You might be interested in their duplication service, although of course they're heavily invested in copyright legalities.

I hadn't heard of krrb.com until this post. It seems much like craigslist except that it's smaller, no?

The closest I recall on AT is coins being used on a floor.

The term "starter home" has been inflated over time. "Starter home" is now used for much bigger homes than it used to describe. It's just a realtor's trick for attracting first-time buyers.

I haven't used a bath mat in many years, and haven't missed it. I wrap my hair in a towel and pat myself dry with a bath cloth before putting on socks as I step from the tub. I have only the floor to clean. My husband keeps a terry bath mat in his bath for comfort, which is reasonable considering it's just another towel in the wash load. A wooden bath mat would create unnecessary housework. Hair, dust, and lint trapped by it would be tedious to remove.

I'm waiting for someone to suggest using a pallet.

Clever, sort of like Santa Claus! By the time a child is old enough to recognize that elf as make-believe, he should have developed enough safety sense to resist the temptation of the ledge.

That comment reminds me of how risky points on escalators are made safer by covering them with clear acrylic panels. The panels are screwed into the walls, although I'm not sure how that would be done in this stairway. Acrylic would be less darkening and visually crowding than some other options.

One trick to reduce anxiety when releasing many books at once is to list each book's author and title. I kept my list for years and was pleasantly surprised I never felt the need to refer to it or to replace a released book. Most of your fiction collection probably can be borrowed from your public library system.

I like Pi's idea. A wood triangle could be installed reversibly. It surely could be removed as a household's youngest kid approaches middle school. That would maintain the house's resale value.

I like larger tiles. They should make a small room seem less small, at least that's what I read about floor tiles.
