LOVE THIS! I used to have yellow walls in my kitchen, and this is making me reconsider a return to them. Such a beautiful space - wish this house was for sale, I'd come buy it in a second.... Shauna's French–Inspired Renovation Kitchen Tour |

I just used some this past Thanksgiving when making a sweet potato pie, instead of Rum. I'm not sure why I thought molasses would replace rum exactly, but I hate alcohol flavors in my baking, and I ended up loving the molasses. It had a richer, more complex taste, I think, because of it. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's the Deal with Blackstrap Molasses? |

Don't love that the container your water is sitting in all day is plastic. Most clear plastics have been proven to leach, especially over time. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | Cuisinart: Heavy-Duty Water Filtration for Your Counter |

I can't believe Big Shrimpy wasn't profiled there. I love their stuff. Great colors, all sizes and shapes, you can wash EVERY part of it, and recycled filling. Last beds I'll ever buy (and I went through loads of them before). Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Review: 6 Eco-Friendly Dog Beds |

How about stepping on my then-boyfriend's laptop and cracking the screen a week after we'd met? Three weeks later I was carrying the laptop in my briefcase and left it at an ATM (went back and it was still there, unbelievably) and now that we're married - yes, he actually stuck with me, clumsiness and all - I have gone through three computers in 5 years. My current laptop has a huge black crack along the corner of the screen from picking up the computer by the screen, and our two kids and cat constantly pick off the type-pad keys. Also lost a cellphone to a drop in the toilet. Need I go on? I covet those industrial grade /construction site computers, and may just invest in one someday, but in the meantime, fingers crossed for this giveaway! One word: COMPOST! I feel SO much better about all those uneaten toddler food scraps, paper towels (I do use them more than I should), etc. since I have a composter and can throw them all in instead of filling up another landfill. Honestly, between that and cloth diapers (which we got up the courage to try with baby #2), our trash goes out 1/2 - 1/3 as often as it used to with our first kid... $5 seems really paltry to me, and how about the materials? If they are going to be animal/earth friendly, I would expect they would be using recycled materials at a minimum, too. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Hot or Not? Baby Planet Endangered Species Strollers |

We just used one of the two handed silver baby cups my daughter got as baby gift when she was born. It's now a bit dented and tarnished, but when she moves up to big cups, we'll just polish it off and put it back on display. What's the point of a cup that's never used, right? My home office is a mess. It's right off the kids playroom, which of course is completely decorated and (mostly) organized, but my little home office is just my space, and it has so much potential (surrounded by floor to ceiling windows looking out over the yard, great light, decent space) but I just haven't made anything of it. I do share it with a 90lb dog, whose dog bed/dog dish take up some space, but that's no excuse for having it look so sad and unfinished given that we've lived here for 2.5 years. I fear if I don't deal with it now, I never will, and as I'm just coming off my 2nd maternity leave and planning to go full time with my own business. I'd LOVE a space that feels organized, coordinated, and warm - somewhere I'd really want to spend as much time in as possible... help me, Lauri!! My errands look the same as yours (I actually think we must be neighbors, since all three of the stores you mentioned are in my neighborhood!) and I agree that life's gotten more complicated. With two young kids and a job, it's actually a big hassle for me to have to go from place to place and often I need to head home before I complete everything. It feels pretty inefficient in a lot of ways, not the least of which is the emissions and costs of driving from place to place (none in walking distance, and young kids means biking's not an option). I really wish one store would step it up and be the green shopper's one stop shop, perhaps avoiding the Wal-Mart model by being a "Farmer's Market" of sorts for small organic businesses and products. We have the ducduc table and LOVE it - it works for everything from a train table to a chalk drawing board, and is the primary large storage (the rolling drawer underneath) in our room. That said, it functions more as a coffee/center of the room table than a table/chairs set, for which we purchased another inexpensive set that is pushed in the corner w/ two small chairs. The timing of this giveaway could hardly be more perfect - I just had a conversation earlier this week with my husband, who's been buying conventional cleaning products, about how we need to do a complete cleaning product overhaul in our house (we've got two kids under three crawling around, and I get a knot in my stomach every time the flourescent green Mr. Clean finds its way out of its locked cabinet in the garage to pay us a visit). I work in environmental consulting, so I'm present to all the dangers of traditional chemical cleaners, but I'm also up against someone who doesn't believe they will work well enough to clean the mess of our family (the aforementioned kids, plus two large dogs, two cats, and myriad visitors - yes, it's truly a zoo). I've bought Method products for the areas I clean most often, but have never tried their bathroom or floor products. I would LOVE to do a comprehensive test so could win over my husband and start fresh using all Method for everything. Wednesday Giveaway: Method Home Products |

I have two beautiful kids, so I'm laughing to myself about how bad a mom I am that I'm picking a photo without them in it, but here we go... My favorite photo is actually of our family dog, Murphy, who's sitting out in the grass of our yard wearing fuzzy bunny ears last Easter. Murphy is a 90lb lab/pointer mix, white with black spots and a black ear, and he completely personifies the quintessential family dog. He gets drawn on by chalk, paint or markers at least once a week (the white coat is a great canvas), gamely chases bubbles in the yard, knows which toys are his and which are my kids' (never chews the wrong ones, thank goodness) and is honestly the sweetest, most gentle guy in the world. We dress him up every Halloween (so far he's been a princess and a pirate) but this past Easter was just classic, since my Mom had sent bunny ear headbands for the kids and we tried one on him. In this photo, he's sitting in the sun with the ears on, looking utterly humiliated but still such a good sport, knowing the "photo shoot" will be over soon and he'll be showered with kisses and pets from all of us.
