You can cook the turkey so it's ready 2 hours or more in advance, then wrap it in towels and blankets and leave it in a warm place while you cook the vegetables. It'll still be hot when you come to carve it, and it also continues cooking a bit inside, reducing the risk of underdone parts. We did this last year and it worked very well. I've bought from them several times and been very happy with the service. I haven't tried selling anything yet though. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Better World BooksSpring Clean Your Bookshelf |

Vinegar is good for cutting through grease. Try putting a baking pan with vinegar and water in there and heating it up for a while, the steam should help. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | More Adventures in Oven Cleaning |

My room was always like that when I was a kid. My mother taught me to read when I was 3, and I consistently had the highest reading age, spelling skills etc in my school, so maybe housekeeping skills aren't everything. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Messy House, Messy Minds Slate |

Leave the plug in the bath when you take a shower, then scoop up the water in a bucket to flush the toilet. We leave water in the tub all day until someone has a shower, and use the water all day - but you do get some godawful rings round the tub. Perhaps you could sacrifice some bedroom space to extend the kitchen that way, then move the oven to the left and the sink to the right under the window to leave an opening for a new door to the bathroom. You could also have room for eating in the kitchen if you extend it up to the window wall. Apartment Therapy New York | NY Good Questions: Suggestions for our Apt. Layout? |

I'm 5'2" and currently using an old low dining table as a desk. I plan to get a wooden worktop the same length as my little study to run all along one wall, like a floating desk, wall shelves above and drawer units on wheels to go underneath, which will be flexible. I might even do that both sides so I have a dedicated sewing/crafts area... I also use a Joakim chair from Ikea at its lowest setting, which is very comfortable. You can do something similar with irfanview, which is free. Convert to greyscale then go to Enhance colours and tweak the contrast and brightness, then increase levels of one of the colours. You need a fairly contrasty image to start with, though. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF Good Questions: How Can I Make Artwork Like CB2's? |

Oh, but don't think all British shops are as wonderful as Peter Jones and other John Lewis stores, oh no! It has a special place in the hearts of the middle classes: never trendy, sometimes stuffy, with a certain bohemian eccentricity mixed in with its solid bourgeois values, and lots of good quality schmata, it gives us the feeling all is right with the world.
