I used Queen Anne's lace in all the arrangements for my wedding 25 yrs ago. They were perfect- not too formal and stuffy. Weeds in Floral Arrangements | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I tried Krylon Fusion on cheap plastic stacking chairs, and it did chip and scrape off the edges. Maybe you could just paint one chair, live with it a while and see what it does. I also like the idea of slipcovers. Painting "Heywoodite" Plastic Chairs? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Boston |

I believe that smoke detector in the upper corner is in a dead spot- the smoke doesn't go into corners, so the detector is useless. Scott's From Brooklyn to a Beach Bungalow House Call | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

Drying it with a towel or dry washcloth after washing it will guarantee that shine. This is how I clean my SS appliances, too. No need for fancy cleaners- just wash and then rub dry. Easy, Streak-Free Countertop Cleaner | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I've never had white, but I have very dark, shiny wood floors in our house now. Everyone who sees them for the first time oohs and ahhs, but I don't like them. Maybe if they weren't shiny, it would be better. A drop of water catches dust as it dries and shows up as dirt. If I could do the floors over, I'd go w/ something in between very light and very dark. You'll have a problem w/ roman shades in the corner windows because there isn't enough space between them. The shades would overlap and interfere w/ each other. So, I would suggest a combination of roman shades on the door and small window, and panels on the corner windows. Stack the panels back to the sides of the windows away from the corners and use a fabric that's not too heavy. It looks like you have a beautiful view- don't cover it up! Another great tool to have is the painter's 5 in 1. Makes it actually possible to clean roller covers. I throw them in a bucket of water after getting as much paint as possible off w/ the tool, then clean w/ the tool. Keep changing the water until it's clear. I find this more effective than running water at the kitchen sink. http://www.amazon.com/Hyde-Tools-04970-Painters-Tool/dp/B000XBB9WY Practical Painting Tips Make for Half the Hassle | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

Ditto sucrek on the Purdy brushes. I've painted every room in the last two houses we've owned, but just learned my best tip a couple of years ago. When using latex, get your brush wet w/ water, shake out the excess, and start painting. The water at the base of the bristles keeps the paint from gumming up the brush. Makes it easier to clean, too. I think you can do the same w/ oil base, but use mineral spirits instead of water, of course. #5 is an inspiration! We're getting ready to renovate our small galley kitchen, and I really like the dark lower cabinets w/ white uppers. We're planning to remove all the uppers on one side of the kitchen and relocate the fridge to just outside the "triangle", to cut down on the congestion. I'd really like to know what the floor is in #5. There's no mention of it in the link. Our 10 Favorite Small Kitchens Inspiration Gallery | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

Roman shades can definitely be used on a slider. They can be split down the middle and mounted on one headrail if you want to keep the non-functioning side down when you open the door. Or, if you don't want to spend a lot, you can get two shades and mount them side by side above the door. Be careful of woven shades if you want privacy at night. They'll need a liner!
