radioriot, the ban doesn't actually take place for another 6 months or so, the baby stores are still displaying bumpers on cribs for the time-being

My parents and grandparents helped me collect Madame Alexander dolls and Precious Moments figurines at the time it was kind of annoying because I couldn't play with them, but now I'm thinking about how much I could get for those items ;)
I wish that I had been allowed to have a gorgeous wooden dollhouse and able to collect mini furniture/decor and dolls for it, my grandmother had one with little working lights that I adored but I never seemed to get my own.

What Do You Wish You Would Have Collected As A Kid?

I really dont have any problems with my soon to be first (still cookin') wanting to explore and collect from his/her environment but the one thing that I struggle with it I have a worm phobia (I literately can't eat any spaghetti noodles or long pasta because it weirds me out too much and I avoid looking at gummy worms in the store among other things). My husband and I have talked a bit and I'm still not sure how I'm going to mentally handle it when my kid goes digging in the backyard and finds some wiggly little friends.

I think it would be fair to do an accent wall in the childs choice of color and then all the other walls either a softer shade or something more neutral if the original color is eyeball melting. I had a room growing up that would have given me a headache today. It was turquoise and hot pink rag rolled with purple, hot pink, and turquoise bedding. And my step-dad helped me string up colored Christmas lights around the entire room. It looked like an airport landing strip, but I was proud of my room.

I love the chandelier...and the fox, it sets a whimsical tone that is not followed up through the rest of the space which kind of falls flat.

I'm a furniture repair technician for Furniture Medic, my family's business. we repair this sort of thing all the time (I actually just did a leather rip today). Unfortunately we're located in Chicago, but call the Furniture Medic headquarters to see if there is a franchise in your area. If not, your best bet is to patch it from underneath with a similar matching scrap of leather. We use a special adhesive that can be molded to match the leather grain then color match with dye.

Don't paint Thermofolil cabinets. They arn't meant to be painted, it's a disaster waiting to happen. I work as a furniture repair technician (Furniture Medic) and if you really want to change the color of the cabinets, just put in new Thermofoil cabinetry, it typically runs about $9-$15 per sq. foot

It also depends on the kind of wood, an open grained wood is going to need to be filled which can be a painstaking process, it could then be painted, then depending on the surface (matte, high gloss, ect) it can be sprayed with a polyurethane finish and it will give your furniture a really sleek effect.

My Medieval Studies professor had told the class decorating a fir tree could also be traced back to the vikings when they defeated their enemys they would hang the body parts in the trees as an offering to the gods. It was just a side conversation during lecture not in the textbook so I don't know how true this is, but the funny part is she told her daughter about this viking habit and her daughter hung barbie doll parts in the christmas tree when she was young.

I love the picture frame idea as well as the branches (I'd probably paint the branches though and only put my favorite jewelry on it so it doesn't look too cluttered.) The lace looks really great but I'd be afraid of ripping it, the wire mesh would hold up better.

I have a few peices of hores art and photography I was thinking of displaying together on one smaller wall in our new apartment. I too am a horse person but I'm trying not to overdecorate with them. My fh received a massive horsehead ash tray from a friend that immediately went into thw "to donate to salvation army" pile.

I live in the suburbs of chicago and travel into the city everyday, if I can't make it to work on time because of an overabundance of traffic, how am I supposed to pay the ever rising cost of our taxes (don't we have the highest in the nation right now? not really sure)
And sorry but I don't have an extra grand in cash laying around for tickets to the big show
