The directions used to be on this page and they are definitely missing! I make this pretty often and always refer to it. Recipe: Grated Beet Salad with Blue Cheese |

Today, my new fridge arrived and the old one was removed. Next week will be my marathon kitchen renovation which means I am not necessarily a cure drop-out, I just should have signed up for the kitchen cure instead! My biggest accomplishment within the regular Cure timetable is that I started using my kitchen and learning to cook. Apartment Therapy New York | NY Spring Cure: Week Eight - Weekend |

I am officially a Cure dropout now. (So save my certificate for the Fall when I will be an A student.) It is time to admit that I set my goal too high and a renovation is a completely different thing than a cure. I have also realized that the fact that a kitchen is 4' x 5' does NOT make it easier or faster to renovate. Originally, I was going to have the loud work done by a contractor while I was at work (read during the hours my co-op allows that kind of noise). Due to budget constraints and my conviction that I can do this myself, I realize I will have to take a week off from work and get everything done as quickly as possible while living in the space. The cure has helped me get past the decisions which had delayed the process before. I have an appointment with my bosses to discuss when my "vacation" week can happen. I feel much better prepared for this project and have discovered that cooking can actually be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It has been to my advantage in the final design of my kitchen to actually try cooking in it first anyway. So thanks to everyone for your help and I will continue posting as the remodel takes shape. I was also concerned about moisture damage to artwork. I used 3 inexpensive frames and cut pages from a graphic design magazine. No one has ever guessed that's what they are. You could do the same thing with digital prints of your own photos and just reprint them if they do get wet. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | 11 Inexpensive Updates for Your Bathroom |

I agree that a rug would make a huge difference (although you've stated you can't buy anything new). The dark wood would be visually separated from the lighter floor at least. Apartment Therapy New York | NY Good Questions: How Can We Make the Dark and Light Furniture Work? |

This is my favorite space so far. It strikes the delicate balance between open space and intimate space which really makes it feel like a home. Truly beautiful and functional. I am right there with you in the buy one pair of shoes, get rid of a pair mentality. It's changed the way I live (and consume). Re: rolling out of bed: I really can't remember the last time I fell out of a normal height bed and can't see why a lofted one would be any different. Best of luck in the contest; you deserve to win! I am so far behind that I feel like a dropout already. I have kept up with buying flowers every week and continued with planning, but am still stuck on the same problems that have delayed my kitchen renovation all along. The fact that my digital camera died at the end of week two means I have only have cell phone pictures right now. I haven't posted them because the kitchen does not look any different right now than in the beginning. I will be out of town for a week for family stuff so I think I have to give myself a one week extension to be reasonable. Focusing on what I HAVE accomplished: I am cooking at home a lot (in my soon to be demolished kitchen); picked a fridge that is 24" wide, counter depth, AND energy star rated; picked the cabinets, countertops, sink and how they will be configured. Right now I have two pressing questions before I borrow a sledgehammer. 1) Is it safe to leave one side of a gas range exposed? I have no idea how hot it gets since it is now sandwiched between base cabinets. 2) Is it complicated to replace a single bowl sink with a double bowl? I will have a pro install it, but since I plan on asking a friend, I don't want to ask for something complicated. So in a nutshell, I got stuck on week 3 "Call in help". I have the worst time asking for help. So please, help me not be a Cure dropout! Apartment Therapy New York | NY Spring Cure: Week Five - Weekend |

I am doing the one room cure for the kitchen area of my studio, but being that I live in one room, I am doing some deep treatment also. I've been working on my apartment steadily since I moved in 8 months ago and the kitchen is the one area where my progress is continuously derailed. Here is what I have done for my combo cure so far: Apartment Therapy New York | NY Spring Cure: Week One Two - Weekend |

I was planning on doing the one room version of the home cure with the kitchen as my room. Would it be better to do this cure instead? My cure is actually a major renovation including new appliances, countertops, backsplash tile, and floor tile (possibly new cabinets too). Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Starting Soon! I'm in NY, but I have to weigh in on this one. When I moved to my new place, I did A LOT of research on Murphy Beds. I need the extra space in my 325 square feet, but I hated the look of the typical cabinetry. I found a place in the city to do an amazing custom design with Shoji style doors at a reasonable price, but went in the opposite direction. I got the basic bedframe with a Murphy mechanism (mounted to the floor since I own) and splurged on a really great mattress. Instead of cabinetry to hide it, I hung floor to ceiling curtains. I am extremely happy with my decision and the fact that I saved thousands of dollars. Apartment Therapy Chicago | CHI Good Questions: Modern Murphy Beds? |

I am in. I also just moved and will be unpacking/renovating during the cure. Aside to Pixie, I am urban, non-straight, and live alone if that makes you feel better, but I don't see the need for the hating. Apartment Therapy - Last Minute Motivator: Fall Cure |
