I totally disagree with the inclusion of "plus-ones". The term "Significant Other" is ambiguous and stretched by many guests making a case to include their newest flavor of the month, a best friend or just about anyone who lets them say they didn't go to the wedding "alone." The etiquette rule to keep is being consistent in who gets a “plus-one”’: married couples, engaged couples, couples living together, couples together over 1 or 2 years, everyone, etc. Letting an out-of-town guests play by different rules can create unnecessary acrimony and tension on the wedding day.
