I agree with everyone who mentioned French 75. The nice thing about this drink is that you can prep the glasses with everything, but the Champagne before the guest arrive and you are not tied to mixing drinks. Baked apples stuffed with brown sugar, walnuts and cognac. To capture the lovely caramelized sugar, place a piece of bread (whole grain or not depending on taste). Agree with everyone about the hand food. It's also nice to have hand fruits like cherries, strawberries and blackberries.
