If these are small, I'd like to see large. I've never had an apartment as big as most of these in my entire life.

Who in the world can afford something like this for their kid?!

Of course they do! I have seen children with an entire room of presents, with parents spending literally HUNDREDS of dollars on them. It is ridiculous!

It's more obscene considering the purpose of Christmas has nothing to do with gifts in the first place, but rather acknowledging and celebrating the incarnation of God in Christ! (I'd bet children today don't even know that!)

Also, who in the world can afford so much for headphones? Not me, that's for sure. Not even when I was working!

Is it just me, or is it bizarre to see these huge headphones back in style? When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to have something small like the earbuds that were invented years later! Now these giant, sweat-inducing things are quite popular again. I couldn't believe it when I saw my teenage niece with a pair. Hilarious!

Why would anyone want to stay home as a source of fun/relaxation? For me, "home" is a place of stress. I'd give anything to get away, even for a night.

The fact that I've been unemployed for 5 years doesn't help. I'd be happy to never see these four walls again!

I guess I don't understand this mentality. Just because you're sick doesn't mean you have to turn into a complete slob. Sure, you're not going to feel like mopping the floors or doing the laundry. Understandable. But you can throw tissues in a trash can not on the floor or a table, use pop-up wipes to quickly clean the sink, doorknobs, etc. (especially if you live with others!), throw clothes in the hamper not on the floor, and at least rinse out plates and cups so food doesn't harden on them.

I think it's absolutely beautiful!

As to jacksonlalonde's comment:

"This is not what one visits a design blog to see, this is what one visits home in the mid-west to see."

That is one of the most rude things I've seen anyone say on the internet. (And believe me, I have seen plenty.)

I live in Chicago and be overjoyed to have a place so lovely. Not everything is my particular style, but that's why it's their home and not mine.

Too much pink and orange for my personal but, but it's gorgeous! I especially love that little bedside table.

And oh, how I desperately miss my wood floors.

I love your idea! Wish I'd thought about it when I had roommates!

My solution? NEVER have roommates. Certainly not that many!

I gave up on roommates when I lived with three other girls. The house we were renting was pretty and spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable. That was not an issue. The issue was that I ended up doing ALL the cleaning. (Except for the individual bedrooms.)

I finally reached my end one day when I was very sick and went to use the microwave to heat up a cup of tea or something. (MY microwave, by the way, that I had donated for the household.)

The thing was FILTHY! Not only spaghetti sauce everywhere, but pieces of spaghetti! I went off on these people. How people can put food into something that disgusting is beyond me.

I will never, EVER live with people again.

I find it odd that you have to list cleaning. Don't people clean the bathroom on a regular basis, just for themselves? I live by myself and I clean it nearly daily!

I am in love with this! How I wish I knew how to use color like this. I am always afraid it will be too much or too bright and that I'll get sick of it quickly. But I think I could happily live with this forever.

I wear slippers in my home. I cannot imagine people wearing shoes in their home on a regular basis.

When I visit, I go by their rules as to whether to leave them on or off. But it grosses me out because even in relatively clean homes the floor has some dust or dirt, and it makes me sick to put my dirty feet back into my shoes. So I sometimes bring extra socks.

Oh, and to arroyo's comment, I try to avoid sitting on buses and trains whenever possible, for exactly that reason! And when I absolutely can't avoid it, I sure don't sit on my sofa or anywhere in my home until those pants are washed.

Stop and think how filthy public transportation really is. You probably don't want to think about it too closely or you'll never want to use it again. Alas, some of us have no choice.

Call me crazy, but there you have it!
