It's simply not safe to ride in a cab with a toddler that's not in a car seat. It doesn't matter if it's a quick trip or long one. If the cab is in an accident your child is not protected. Holding them tight or putting a seat belt around them when they're too small won't do the trick. You would never put a toddler in your own car without a car seat, so I don't understand why people think it's ok to ride in a cab without one. Cabs certainly don't have any magical safety properties - if anything, they are more unsafe than a regular car. Take the bus or subway or walk, or if you really need to get somewhere in a car, then bring your regular car seat.

While this looks great, I think the tent draped around the pack n play might be a safety hazard - if not for the baby, then for the older kids.

Love this. But does anyone know how she did it? Are these photos of each piece of art, which are then re-sized to a thumbnail version?

Question for nani8nani - can you use magnetic primer underneath any brand of chalkboard paint? What brand did you buy?

I just bought some of the Benjamin Moore chalkboard paint to use on some pumpkins (an idea I got from ohdeedoh), but have been thinking about doing a portion of a wall too. I think my daughter would love being able to put magnets on the wall in addition to coloring.
