Sell Cheap or Keep This Oeuf Crib? Good Questions

Do not believe that having better cooking tools will make you a better cook. Putting Hamburger Helper into a $450 Mauviel copper saucepan doesn't make it bouef bourguignonn.

Register for knives individually. People may not buy you the $800 set, but they may buy the $100 chef knife or $50 paring knife. Then return all the individual knives and get the set.

Couples stress out about how many place setting to register for, and then completely forget to register for platters.

Gte a punch bowl or something to serve large quantities of drinks out of, or you will have to recruit someone into playing bartender all night.

Don't get a bread machine, yogurt maker, beer brewer or other gadgety thing that you do not already own.

You don't have to register for everything. The store will still be there even after you get married.

Parchment can be wiped off and re-used. So just designate it your "panini" parchment sheet and use it as many times as you can!

I never buy David Sedaris or Garrison Keillor books; the audioversions are so much better.

I loved JK Simmons reading "Don't Know Much About the Civil War." I didn't have much interest in Civil War; Simmons makes that book fascinating!

Carrie8, I can totally relate! My parents used to live next door to a woman who would sit on her front porch and drink scotch all day. She would wave her little scotch glass at you as you walked or drove by, and sometimes invite you to sit down, eat some cookies and tell you which dogs in the neighborhood were the bad ones. I miss you, Libby.

My mother has special china, but it's really the serveware that is treasured. They generally bought a piece whenever they traveled, and it's nice to see bits of the world on the table.

I do like seeing the special china on the table because I know I am in for an extra special meal!

Cinnamon bun recipes have been an unbroken string of disasters. I don't know what it it but I have never made a successful one.

Most of the time, I'm rolling the dough and filling into the spiral shape and muttering, "this doesn't look right ... this doesn't feel right ... "

I have stopped using Anthropologie measuring cups. Like so many things, pretty =/= right.

My parents let me pick my paint color from a few swatches they chose. It was "April Sky", a nice soft blue.

My sister was not interested in choosing, so my parents picked grey for her room. She didn't love it, so she became very involved in picking her window shade colors.

The drain cover likes to get stuck upside down in the garbage disposal. There's nothing to grip!

I pulled it out by turning the garbage disposal on and it vibrated loose.
