We have the silver version of the first stump coffee table (from The Phillips Collection) and we love it. It's not painted wood, but a resin cast of a tree stump, and it's surprisingly light.

Before we bought the table, we first tried to take a large actual tree stump, but we abandoned the attempt after thinking of the logistics of loading and unloading the heavy lump from the car and then getting it into our apartment building - I'm in good shape and i'm all for DIY, but I have my limits. We then saw the coffee table later that week and bought it - it was meant to be.

@CordeliaWren: I am currently sitting on one of the 24" stools I bought on Overstock. I really like them, and they seem to be of good quality. However, they are painted silver, and are not bare metal as they appear in the pictures, though I read the reviews and knew that going in.

I posted the question, and thanks for the suggestions so far! I like the idea with going with blue - I was thinking about it, but wasn't sure if it was too boring. I look forward to reading more comments.

@home body: The partition wall faces my entryway, and it's the first thing you see when you come into my apartment, so I wanted to make my art a focus. I'm afraid if I move it, it will be lost - my ceilings are over 11' tall.

@idontdobeige: The "bedroom" just fits my bed and a nightstand, so switching is not really an option.

@Christina Marie Interiors: I am looking into getting a pendant. I can snag some antique ones from my grandparents that are just sitting in my parents' garage.

@Dulcibella: I just want to say that one of my favorite things about my apartment is that it's not dark - the windows face south, so it's really bright. I think it's just my older, well-loved camera at work here.

i have the first cuckoo clock by diamantini & domeniconi. it has both a light sensor so it will not go off during the night, and a switch to turn the cuckoo off altogether.

Nice job, and you gave me some ideas for my 275 sq. ft. apartment. One thing that I like most about this space is that it looks attainable - anyone could do this, without having to own your apartment, or knock down walls, etc.

I have the IKEA PS cabinent holding up a 50" plasma TV weighing about 100 pounds (along with my DVR, DVD player and Wii, plus some t-shirts inside) - it's sturdy.

Just started my first job out of law school, so this would come in handy, considering my shirts generally look worse after I attack them with an iron...
