Vinegar is not going to get cat pee smell out. Unfortunately, I have too much experience in that department. Try Nature's Miracle or Urine Off. I prefer Urine Off - it smells better and it's fun to say. The Ten Commandments of Used Furniture |

What's under the floor? It might be concrete, in which case, maybe finishing/staining it? I've never done it but I do have friends that have done it themselves with great results. So true!!! I rented a place with a super wobbly throne. Drove me crazy. Luckily I had a friend help me take it apart and put in a new seal and shims for less than $10. I'm of the opinion that it's in a renter's best interest to be industrious and their own go-to handy-person (within financial reason of course). That said, I'm an engineer and I've never been burned by my "updates". The Most Important Rental Tip We've Ever Given | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

Spike's different lairs and Giles' place on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also the Adams Family, Clarissa's room, and OH! Michael and Hope's house on Thirtysomething. I was a teenager then and dreamed of living there. (I'm not ashamed to say) Now I'm really liking the goth interiors of the Salvatore home on the Vampire Diaries. I could go on... My mother, who lives by herself, downsized into a small three bed/1 bath home with a small eating area off the kitchen and a living room. She enjoys entertaining and only needed one guest room, so she took the door off one of the bedrooms and made it into a formal dining room. She added some architectural details - crown molding, chair rail - and changed the closet into a little butler's pantry. It's perfect. What's In A Name? I wonder if it could have more than one configuration. For instance, one setting creates a stool/waste bin, another creates a box or something else commonly needed. Actually, if it just created multiple sized boxes, I'd get one for packaging holiday gifts. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Recycling Bin Turns Waste Paper Into Furniture |

Love seeing all these great ideas! 13 years ago, I needed a desk for my college apartment. I "reclaimed" the top of an old wood drafting table, bought some pipe and fittings and make one. I still use that desk today and have gotten complements ever since then. Apartment Therapy New York | Getting Crafty with Pipe Plumbing |
