I have Cambria quartz counters and I think they're fantastic. It's definitely not cheaper than granite, but I feel like it had all the benefits and fewer drawbacks. Plus, since all the quartz looks are "manufactured", some are quite uniform in color/texture (as in, they don't have the mottling of many granites), some mimic granite or other stone very well, and some are crazy and colorful, if you're into that sort of thing. I would second the vote for a semi-final stage, or something, because it does seem that the first posted entries have a huge advantage (this year, in particular, in the Teeny and International entries, the winners are practically the first posted...) And the Little and Small winners were posted later-ish, but both of them have extensive blogs about their homes (yes, I know this is not against the rules), so a lot of people have seen their places before and also, have seen many more details than the five pictures allow. I think all the category winners are wonderful, and deserving of finalist status. But there were SO many wonderful entries, as always, and especially in the Teeny-Tiny category, that never seemed to have a chance. As Cindy44 said, they look most like Lafer chairs, or possibly something by Tobia Scarpa. Google Image search either of those terms and you'll get tons of examples. When my dog had to be put to sleep last year, the vet office made a paw print in playdoh/clay for me. I've had friends get paw prints from other vets' offices, so I assumed it was a pretty common practice. I still miss him terribly and I'm glad I have the paw print. I love that your kitchen uses its height. Very nicely done. And I love the yellow dresser in your bedroom. Awesome! In my previous condo, I had, not the combination w/d in one unit, but a separate small washer and a small ventless (condensation) dryer. Yes, it does take longer, but when you live in an old stone or concrete building that was never designed for washers/dryers, and there's absolutely no way to vent something to the outside, they are a great solution.
