Jeez Louise, I was so stunned by the pictures I didn't read the writeup before commenting. Forget about the refrigerator question. :)

Love the purple kitchen! And love it with the Saarinen table.

One question, do you have a refrigerator?

"Being short, I find the sloped ceilings very cozy."

Me too!

Love the use of space and the light. I'm curious if you rent or own and how much of that you had built in.

I felt the same as the first comment. I really liked Fab and did buy a number of things (mostly small) when it was a flash sale site because it introduced me to a number of designers and artists I would never have known about otherwise. Now, though, I've definitely lost interest.

Love it! One question: do you not need to replace the window/fire escape grate with anything?

Also, the laminate floor looks way better than it has any right to. What a great, chameleon-like grey/brown color.

Also also, I think a (very small) table in front of the window would be perfect.

Still curious what you are doing with the space above the refrigerator.

Love how it looks so far, though!

Wow! Cannot wait.

With a kitchen that small, you're really going to have to do the shipbuilding thing - design every square inch around just what needs to be there.

So, basically the bulk of the overage ($9,200-9,300) came from the behind-the-scenes stuff - plumbing, electrical - and totally gorgeous and worth it finish carpentry. Sounds about right.

The total cost seems like a big number for such a small space/small number of cabinets, but it really is and looks every bit a high-end jewel box, plus you know that everything is "right" behind the scenes, which is super super duper important.

All in all, awesome!

I love how the old floor was uncovered and is now continuous with the dining room.

It looks absolutely gorgeous.

I anxiously await the budget breakdown!

Did I miss something? Are/were the upper cabinets always going to be a white/light shade in contrast with the grey lower cabinets?

Regardless, I'm so excited!!! Can't wait for the final final FINAL.

Well, eventually you'll probably decide to do the bathroom, right? Please please please put it on Apartment Therapy.

If I ever (please, please, someday) get to build or remodel a bathroom from the studs out, I am so getting one of these. Just the idea of not having an area around/behind the toilet to struggle to clean is worth it. Worth it, I say!

Looking good!!!

I agree, it's been great to see both the setbacks and the progress on this project. I cannot wait to see the end result.
