Yeah, these tips are going to help much since my new apartment has no thermostat or air conditioning. We've got heat but it's only "on" and "off".

I wish I could convince the bf to take shorter showers. He was complaining the other day about running out of hot water before the end of the shower and I weasled out of him that he takes 30 minute showers some days. He doesn't seem to understand about the drought and the gas bill. Maybe that's because his company hasn't just cut him back to 32 hours like mine did.

I concur with the four pillows. Two regular and two with shams to match the bedset. Personally, I like to sleep with two but the bf only uses one. I used to like the decorative ones but he likes things more sparse.

I once did a site inspection of an apartment building that had fancy laundry machines that called your apartment when your cycle was finished.

But seriously? Just go to a laundromat. You'll be done much quicker and it's cheaper for us since the rip-off machines at our complex are old and can't dry a small load of laundry in under two cycles.

How in the world does anyone have time to wash laundry twice each week?

We wash the sheets and towels every two weeks, just like the rest of the laundry. I've started doing the gym clothes every week, but that's just because I don't own enough sports bras to last for two weeks.

Reusable bags at the grocery store cost $1.00 or $1.50, hold more than one plastic bag, and will last for well more than six trips to the store. That's a cost savings in the long run for anyone, poor or wealthy.

Right now, Ralph's gives you five cents back for every reusable bag you use and three cents for every plastic or paper bag you reuse. I wish more stores would do that but I guess they no longer have any need.

I don't think the intention is to not charge for paper but charge for plastic. I believe all disposable bags will need to be charged for.

Either way, I bring my own bags every where I go. And I get stared at for it constantly.

I recently moved to Inglewood to share a one-bedroom with my boyfriend. It only comes with one spot so we'll be alternating who gets to park there. I can usually find a space on the block but occasionally I'm stuck on a cross-street. He worries about me walking alone at night but so far it hasn't been scary.

Sorry, but that e-mail forward isn't entirely true:

(My boss sent that out to the company last week.)

I recommend 1-800-GOOG-411 and Google text though.

I'm being forced into closet cleaning by moving in with my boyfriend. It's working pretty well so far. I only moved over the freshly washed laundry this week, but it was great to wake up and have a choice of clothes I actually wanted to wear for once.

This is last week's news. If I remember correctly, it was just a one week or one day ordinance to give credence to the kid's request. Seems like a nice idea to me. I'm always embarassed when I accidentally swear in front of children.

I had no idea that people were anti-toilet seat covers. Maybe it's a Midwest thing, but I've always had them in my bathroom. I wonder what else I've been doing "wrong".

You know what it won't cure? The toothpaste cap my boyfriend pulled out of his pipes under his bathroom sink. He had to take the thing apartment to find the culprit.

Art,

Subversive cross stitch patterns are the easiest ones I've ever done. They are a perfect starting place for a newbie to cross stich.

Where did you get them framed? I've got a friend that's been storing her Shag prints for years because she's too lazy to get them framed. I'd love to give her an LA recommendation.
