Also check out the Hotel So in Christchurch, New Zealand. My room was a windlowless pod, about 10 x 10 that included a prefab bathroom unit and a queen size bed. All done in a very sleek futuristic modern design with full integration of all of the room electronics via a central computer system. Loved it! The only downside was that there was no daily maid service. But then again, it was only $38USD/night. So if you don't mind tidying up after yourself, it's a fantastic deal.

The rug is "Coventry" by Amy Butler- presumably available from Red Barn Mercantile. It's a shame that, for whatever reason, these rugs are so hard to find in person. They would sell a lot more of these if they were to become available via more mainstream outlets.

Ugh! I just threw up in my mouth... a little. This woman is like cockroaches... or Cher? Just when you think she's gone for good, she keeps coming back... ugh!

I think it just seems so hackneyed when they try and do this with those cliched and over-used MCM shapes. I think it would be cool to see these fabrics used on some original pieces. Better yet, I think it would be better if these fabric patterns were made into rugs.

Why bother doing a post on a DIY project if you're not going to disclose the cost of the project? Isn't that the whole point of DIY- to save money?

And this trend started because...? It was silly then; it's silly now. Why would anyone want crap scrawled across their walls and dust all over the floor?

I am in Camp Kelly all the way! I generally have less respect for stylists vs. designers... but her style sense is extraordinary. A true original who is not afraid to take chances or bend the rules of good taste.

I have this with a rainshower head. I have had zero problems. Plus, if you have spent a lot of money and consideration on tile and bath fixtures, why do you want to keep them hidden behind a shower curtain? Let the bling shine through!

bitdot- if you put down enough layers of polyurethane (and the reflection pattern in the photo definitely indicates that a ton of it was used), it will protect the floor from claws and heels. Actually, to be honest, I think this is kind of a brilliant idea to use in a smaller room like a powder room. And if at the end of the day you are sick of it, you can always sand it and cover it with something else. I think I might have to try this out... The Cole and Son Fornasetti line of wallpaper may be perfect for this- creepy yet really chic in the right context. But I would assume you would have to test the paper first to make sure it doesn't do wacky things when the poly dries/cures.

There is something undeniably creepy (in a cool way) about some of these patterns, especially the Prairie Gothic. Is there a "creepy modern" movement afoot? If there is, sign me up!

I'm sorry, but it's a white-walled yawn full of nondescript furniture and decor. The one saving grace is the majestic view.

The cow picture proves that Martha was the first Kate Moss.

Okay, I must be living under a rock, but when did Martha vanish from the aisles of KMart and end up at Macy's? It's sad because Martha's offerings at KMart were truly inspiring in a cheap/chic way. Now KMart's home section looks like granny is having a garage sale. It's sad. KMart seriously needs another design collaboration, like, yesterday.

Oh, please. There is nothing realistic about the "new" Seinfeld apartment. For one thing, it was a rent-stabilized rental. So it seems rather implausible that he would put in all-new cabinets, countertops and wide-plank hardwood floors. Secondly, that apartment is enormous for a one bedroom apartment.

On an unrelated note, am I the only one irked by the fact that everybody on this show drove a car to get around? I never saw anyone take the subway.
