I live in Chicago and have had awful experiences with the property's management company and great experiences with the Tenants Union. I've learned that management companies lie a lot. This reminds me SF's Chinatown, where they've filled in some alleys with apartment buildings. There's actually a wonderful restaurant occupying all three floors of one such alley apartment building in Chinatown. The hostess/waitress shouts orders down the spiral staircase.
