We were just having this same conversation in my family the other day. My brother in law said that our nephews have loved the gift cards he's given them in the past because it's like a pretend credit card, something grown ups have but not kids. Just like playing house or groceries, they get to play "racking up debt." Obviously there are issues here, but I was still put at ease by the fact that they will at least be excited to receive these gifts if it's the direction we decide to go. Thank you Alisha! This is a great post and it feels like a direct response to a comment I left on another post about de-cluttering. I'm going to keep these clauses in my back pocket, but only figuratively -- I don't need another sentimental piece of paper hanging around ;) Breaking Up With Your Belongings: Decluttering Tips for the Sentimentalist |

but what about sentimental things? I have a trunk full of stuff I can't bear to get rid of but hasn't been used in years. I always think, since I haven't looked at it in ages, it must be fine to get rid of it, but as soon as I open up that trunk I start running down memory lane and have second thoughts. I close the trunk and am happy knowing that stuff is there, safe and sound. 5 Tips for the Organizationally Challenged |

I think AT pushes ikea b/c when they push stuff we can't afford, we grumble about that. I guess they just like to give us stuff to complain about...or maybe they're trying to give us ideas. IKEA Facelifts from Mid-Atlantic House Tours |

how are you deciding the final "rankings" of the mattresses? You gave this mattress good, fair and fair for the three categories. Ikea got fair, excellent and excellent, so you'd think overall it would get a higher ranking, but it's actually lower. Review: Embody Memory Foam by Sealy A Year in Bed Project |

Not having a box spring might be perfectly comfortable, but it can invalidate the warranty. This is one reason I hate mattress companies. There are a lot of scams out there, even with the big name brands. Preview: Embody Memory Foam by Sealy A Year in Bed Project |
