I love pink in all its shades and love all the attention honeysuckle is getting! I don't remember turquoise or yellow getting this much play the past two years.

Yup - clean-but-worn clothes go back in the closet or dresser. Dirty goes in the hampers - one for lights, one for darks. Clean get put away asap because otherwise it'll never happen!

I would paint them. I have a lamp that I rescued from my mom's basement from probably the same era that was kinda the color and texture of oatmeal. I spray painted it glossy white and now it looks like a Jonathan Adler piece.

I also kept the drum shade, but glued on some ribbon trim. The tall, straight shade with the glossy, geometric base is an awesome combination. Highly recommend it.

I'm planning on doing this in my powder room! I'm not scared of wallpaper - I removed it from my living room when I first moved in and from a friend's kitchen. Not as easy as just repainting, but both were one-day jobs. Not the end of the world.

I love the wallpaper! Would have loved to see it go completely around the room

if it's a very thin line, I like it. Thick like the first picture? Notsomuch. Too cluttered visually.

My current TV stand is 29" and I think it's perfect. I think if you have a really big TV, then the stand needs to be lower, but yours will be fine.

I do like it in #6 and #8 because the surrounding walls are the same color as the background of the wallpaper. It's more of an extension of the headboard/couch.

But when the other walls are neutral? It's just paper instead of paint as an accent wall and I'm not a fan.

I just recently repurposed a teeny-tiny galvanized bucket as a Q-Tip holder and a stained glass votive holder as a catch-all for hair elastics and barrettes in my bathroom. I don't have much counter space so these are inside my cabinet. Not viewable by my guests (unless they're snoopers), but it makes me happy to open up the cabinet and see pretty things inside instead of a jumbled mess.

aweekinparis - I agree, this house was in a magazine. I remember the kitchen tiles and the monkey wallpaper. I even searched through a bunch this weekend trying to figure it out, but couldn't find it.

I love this house!

I have my TV sitting on a small bookcase with an antique, unlined quilt hanging behind. I don't have cable and instead have a flat panel antenna that can be hung on the wall - and luckily gets reception nicely even hidden behind the quilt! The business of the quilt distracts from the TV and helps hide the cords, as does having the TV sit on an object with a solid back.

I'm happy at home because I'm able to work here. I don't feel any more stuck than if I were in the office. Also helps that I'm able to drive out of my street (though the major roads around me are downright scary, hence the staying at home)

It completely goes with this house, but I think it's a little cold and ghost-y (not because of the white, but because of the emptiness).

For a while, my sister and I slept in our closets. Think we just put pillows on the floor for a mattress, but it was such a great and cozy spot. If I had a cubby like this, I never would have gone back to a real bed!

I'd go white. Play off the beige of your walls with various shades of white and cream for your bedding, but all with clean lines. Possibly go with a bedspread and a duvet for a layered look. Get very simple white panels for the window. Add in other shades of brown furniture so it's all a mix of styles. Add in color with artwork and such if you need to, but any throw pillows or sheets should stay in that same neutral family.

Yes, definitely change the lightbulbs. Then add a shower curtain in a really sunny, happy color or print. The yellow tiles look a little pale in these pictures so I would just ignore them and go for whatever makes you happy. Then hang a picture or print or something else that is also bright and cheerful. With all of that going on, you won't notice the blahness anymore.

It's the lack of color in the rest of the room. The couch is great and you'll love having a basic color once you start adding in accessories.

I generally don't like accent walls so that would be a last resort for me. I would start instead with a rug, then add throw pillows that coordinate. Maybe when you add chairs, go for ones in color or prints - or just more pillows.

I would stay away from red and other warm colors. They're too expected and I think with modern tendencies, you'll be uncomfortable with the final look. kcampana's idea of yellow is really good. It will be bright and cheerful but not overwhelming due to all the wood. Blues of any shade would also be nice - aqua, cobalt, navy.

I also agree that you need a larger coffee table or ottoman.

Frankly, I'd keep the current one because it looks like it holds more than the WANT one. (Unless, of course, your dresser is not completely full or you have been meaning to weed things out anyway)

Plus, while I know this style is touted as timeless, I actually think it's quite trendy and it's likely you'll tire of it in 5 years and be back in the same place but with less storage space.

All that said, I would definitely get new hardware. Something chunky and strong, but still the handle-type, not the knob type.
