there is a Federal style home preserved/restored in Jamaic, Queens too (King Manor i think). The rooms were repainted to match their original colors- I, also, was surprised by how colorful and happy everything was. Unfortunately, I'm a teacher myself. I spend money weekly on books and materials. Frankly, I'm trying to raise some $ for a pair of classroom laptops.
