Similar to hs09in, I have a small hook on the inside of the door of my VERY small under-the-sink storage. There is a little loop on the hair drier, so it fits on the hook perfectly, then I just wrap the cord around the loop a couple of times and it is a perfect solution. Doesn't take up any of my sink storage, either because nothing else was on the door!

I hate bathroom clutter, so the thought of being able to see a hair drier hanging on the wall is too much for me!

How about concealing a plunger somehow in a small bathroom? The ultimate embarrassment as a guest is clogging your friend's toilet and having to ask for a plunger! Haha

I've never had a problem making whipped cream with a kitchen aid stand mixer... am I missing something?

Very jealous of the amount of space you have in DC! You're making me realize just how tiny my one bedroom in Columbia Heights really is... Also, I love your painting. It makes the living room so much more dramatic!

If it's sweet white corn: nothing.

If it's the bigger kernels you get in South America: queso fresco. yumm

Having lived with 10 different roommates in my life, I have a little experience with this :)

Try coming up with ideas you think would look nice and think your roommate would like as well. Tell them about your ideas, keep things positive, and offer to do a lot of the work yourself. Chances are, if you are willing to put some effort into making the place look nice your roommate will like it rather than be offended! Depending on how much time your roommate has on his hands, he may use this as a chance to do some of the things he's been putting off around the apartment.

Being open with your communication as well as open to new ideas and suggestions are absolutely key to living happily and comfortably with a roommate!

In peru they add a lot more salt to the queso fresco and eat it with corn on the cob- yum!

@paintitbright exorcist stairs= huge staircase in georgetown, washington dc made famous by the movie the exorcist. I used to run these stairs often- I agree it would be pretty sweet if they were rainbow!
