A WONDERFUL stain resistant & fade resistant fabric is Sunbrella! If you can get your hands on the fabric it can be sent to any furniture retailer that offers COM or re-upholster your existing furniture. You can clean the fabric with bleach & it will not effect the color/design. It's most commonly used for outdoor but now people are catching on to it's great properties for indoor use (i.e. dining room chairs, sofas, etc.) The perfect solution to kids, dogs, spills. Mason Gray is a collection by duc duc with tons of color choices & unique finishes. They are very pricey but don't be discouraged - if there is a will there is a way! Call the showroom, retailers, search ebay as there could be a floor sample for sale or a piece that was returned. Don't give up & happy hunting! A great gender neutral solution that is also very sentimental is to paper an accent wall with custom digital wallpaper. You can upload a cherished photo of a landscape from a trip or any photo that is meaningful to websites like www.duggal.com and specify the dimensions you want. You can then pull accent colors and accessories from the beautiful scene (i.e. An antiqued picture of a pyramid or ruins can be papered on one wall with netural color bedding/furniture and fun accents like a camel stuffed animal, a decorative chair/ ottoman in an ethnic print, etc).
