Craigslist is awesome. Best recent score: Noguchi Coffee Table by Herman Miller for $350. There were two little dings in the base, but I could easily live with it.

Initially I bought a 160GB WD Passport external hard drive (HD) for my Macbook, and carried that around as my second brain for stock hard drive. Unfortunately, it was a little too inconvenient to keep around, and I was worried about the drive's life expectancy from everyday transport.

If you're fairly handy, there is another option. Two days ago, I upgraded the internal hard drive to 250GB, and feel much, much better. The Macbook HD is easy and cheap to upgrade ($89 for the 250GB), and there are plenty of instructions on the internets for cloning the old drive to the new one.

Good Luck.

Two Air Travel Tips: When waiting for your plane. Go to an unoccupied gate in the same terminal within earshot of your gate. It will be easier on the whole family for diaper changes, looking outside windows, getting their wiggles out, and eating. Second travel tip: Welcome flights with multiple stops when traveling cross-country. Sometimes your kids just need a break from the monotony.
