Our place is only 550 sq. ft, so this was a big dilemma when we moved in. Luckily I found a canvas hamper on Amazon (less than $10!) that hangs on the back of our bedroom door. Hi Lucy, I bought the red patterned chair from a great vintage shop in LA called Finster. All the wood was originally black lacquered. I stripped it and treated the wood underneath with danish oil. Hi Emewen, Yes, the bedroom is in the smaller of the two rooms. The pic with the door in it and the bird curtain is the bathroom. Hi Jane, Yes a carpenter friend of ours built the bookcase as well as a smaller one behind the door that you can't see in this pic. The extra storage and character it provides has made a huge difference. I recently purchased a Vic Firth pepper mill after a couple hours of painfully boring research and I have to say it was totally worth it! It's cuteness is similar to yours Anj- buttercream lacquer - but it is so smooth and powerful...just a flick of the wrist! I definitely notice the difference from the crappy ones that preceeded it on our counter. Plus it was $38 on Amazon...not much more than those crappy ones! I'm from Des Moines and this is one of my favorite things in the city! I instantly recognized the pictures of this charming trail - which winds through beautiful woodland, along the DSM river, through water works part past the city's horse stable district, and eventually ends by Downtown near Gray's Lake.
