I got mine from Upton Teas, an amazing store.

Or you could drink from a more appropriate glass, like a glencairn for whisky or a digestif glass for digestifs... etc, etc.

There is always a battle between quality and convenience, and the poster is just stating a preference towards the latter. MP3's versus CD or Vinyl or FLAC present the same option.

There will always be a market for the higher quality options, even if the nature of those options change. Why the blogger here presents one side of an argument as fact is another question.

Blu-Ray and Why It Doesn't Matter Anymore

This sort of ignores the point of blu-ray, which was the video and sound quality... streaming HD and even cable tv does not even come close to blu ray. For that reason, I think Blu Ray is still a compelling format.

I guess you would have to see one to know what I'm talking about though. ;-)

Sortilege is Maple Liqueur, very excellent fall choice... and the Jack Rose with Applejack is amazing, not to be missed.

Thanks! And with the soft wall there I was actually quite worried about the fire hazard aspect.

I like Belvedere or Reyka... or Crystal Head Vodka, endorsed by Dan Aykroyd.

I like my gin to taste like gin, so while I like Hendrick's and Bulldog they are not my favorites.

Aviation is my current favorite, hands down. I also like Plymouth, Broker's, and sometimes Bombay Dry. Rogue's Spruce Gin is also quite good, if different.

I'm more of a bitters drinker, Fernet is my favorite at the moment. I'm also a big fan of Cynar, though that may be considered an apéritif I tend to drink it after a meal.

But I am never without Underberg! After a big meal or a night of imbibing, nothing is better than a little single-serve bottle of Underberg.

I would never give up my Bodum french press and burr grinder.

Buy fresh beans (I like Peet's), use them as soon as you grind them, and add just a half-pinch of salt to the grounds to cut the acidity. I use 1 tbsp of grounds per cup and steep for 5 minutes.

I have a drip pot too, but the coffee is not as good and it is a bear to clean.

Greenward is one of my favorites... I happened to notice it one day walking down to Abodeon, it used to have some creepy computer repair shop in that space.

Now I stop in pretty often, it's a great source of unique and green items. My favorites are the vases made from recycled bottles... you can see them dead center, top shelf in the third picture from the top... they're a dark green color and have an amazing form.

Great post!

Eddie's is fabulous, this post is fabulous as well. Good job.

Also, that's two posts about Porter Square, which is my neighborhood and one that tends to be overlooked.

Abodeon is one of my favorites, and I second the comment about Greenward. I don't think Abodeon is particularly well known, especially for folks on the other side of the river.

I'm not sure why the negativity towards the selection, I think it fits right in on AT.

Thanks for the post!

I forgot about that room... the sofa looks like the Wegner daybed, but isn't... does anyone know what it is? Amazing room.

I've seen some beautiful examples of concrete floors, I think that would be the way to go... though the tile is also very nice.

Apartment Therapy - Good Questions: What To Do With My New Basement Floor?

It's hard to tell by the (bad) pictures, but we chose the room color from the red in the carpet. Maybe that's the wrong thing to do, I'm very new at all of this, but I liked the idea of a richer darker color in this room. And, I still do, just needs lightening.

I love the straight panel curtain with wood blind idea... brilliant and I'm going to do that first. Then move the chaise to the window and find a neutral small-scale chair for the left of the couch.

Artwork over the couch is definitely a priority, but I've had bad luck hanging pictures on our 100 year-old horse hair plaster walls. If anyone knows how to do that better, please fill me in. It's too crumbly for any anchor solutions I've tried.

And thank you all so much for all of your great comments... looking forward to reading more and trying out these great solutions.
