I'm paying $1600 in a converted 3br in Tribeca. If it was just as originally planned the total rent would be $4850 for 2br. Even though it is a convert, the two smaller br's are at least 12x10 and have lots of closet space.

I even think that a pair of mid-century upholstered wood armchairs would add some life and color into the room. A nice green color would compliment the and enliven surrounding pieces, while a nice danish/modern frame could offer warmth and contemporary styling, maybe something like these, but with nicer and greener cushions:

Good Questions: What Type of Armchairs Would go with this Room?

To Jonathan B:

If you're talking about just replacing the handle on a hard-body, leather-bound guitar case, you should be able to take it to almost any leather repairman. They do this routinely for briefcases and luggage, and if you're guitar case is anything like what I think, then the carrying handle should be similar to those found on old(-er?) suitcases, briefcases and hatboxes (whoa, that's going way back)
Also, what shop on mercer in SoHo are you talking about? MIght need to check it out some day

And for all, I did a stop by at the DWR Annex on sunday to do a lil office chair and coffee table shopping, and they have a pretty redic. deal on the Gin Table. $160 for small or large sizes, and I think the thing sells for like $800 normally. I don't work for them, and the table doesn't fit into everyone's aesthetics, but I thought it was a pretty good deal.

to Marbargarbo :
I was never a fan of Media Hutches, too cumbersome and large and overbearing. Have you thought about using other means of media storage, maybe something like the stuff by salamander designs?
http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/

I built a media cart much like the synergy systems on their site, using extruded aluminum from 8020.net and some shelves I made myself. Ended up costing 1/2 of what salamander was asking for. Also ended up making an adjustable, modular bedframe from the same extruded aluminum at 8020.

As for myself, I am looking to purchase a new coffee table, and saw this one on craig:

I really like the style and features (two shelves). Does anyone know of any company that makes something similar to this, with wrought iron frame and two wooden shelves? I think I remember pottery barn selling something like this a few years ago, but the frame was nowhere near as sturdy looking and it only had one wooden shelf. Thanks to all
