Even though it is painfully obvious that this post and others like it shamelessly promote products behind a thin guise of "decorating tips", some disclosures of the financial relationships behind your product placements needs to become part of your publishing routine. It may be apparent to some that you are paid to mention products in posts, but not to all.

Shattered the back glass "teaching" my 4 year old daughter how to hop curbs on her razor scooter. She's never hopped a curb, but reminds me of the time I broke my phone whenever she gets a chance.

Amused to see the uppity comments on both sides of the fence here.

Note to the apartment therapy writer: anything "modern" about the piece is gone after the paint job. And it doesn't seem like that was the intent here.

gregory: there are some of us who have Mobile me who have't switched over to iCloud yet. Since many of the features are available until June, the question of what are the pros and cons of migrating is appropriate. Funny thing about things being up for debate: it usually makes for good articles.

Just because i really want to make some of you get even more bent out of shape on the price tag, I'd like to point out that there is a $66,000 version made from glass: http://www.dwr.com/product/lighting/ceiling/artichoke-lamp-large-glass.do?sortby=ourPicks

It seems a little obvious to point this out now with all the comments about how the outside doesn't match the inside layout (and the streetview on google maps) but I had this little known fact stored for years: that the window on the left side of the facade of the house was not really a window and was put there by the producers just for filming the outside shots.

Exactly what i've been looking for! Now they just need to move their components into the credenza and look at the post from today about IR repeaters.

Not to rain on the parade, it's great idea. But my camera was stolen from the lobby of a hotel, under video surveillance, while the guy was checking out of the hotel. Police knew his name, address, phone number, everything, and were surprisingly diligent about chasing after a $750 camera. In the end there was nothing they could do besides file an arrest warrant in a state where the guy doesn't live. So even if you find your camera, you probably won't be getting it back.

I agree with the projector comments. i'm not sure its the most vital component. It seems the current usage of the term actually concerns the audio more, i.e. going beyond the built in speakers on your TV, and more than just a stereo setup.

"These lovely little mid-century dressers are perfect project pieces that would look great painted. Find more of our picks in the links after the jump."

2nd post in two days where someone suggested or actually did paint or wallpaper a perfectly good piece of wooden furniture. What's up with the anti-wood sentiment?

There are also some inexpensive iphone control options. For some the app is free and the X10 or insteon fixture is relatively cheap. Smarthome has some good options to explore:

A small bookshelf surrounding the tv would make it a litle more pleasing to the eye. Right now it just looks stuck on the wall. This timely post may help:

I agree withe the above comment. I would replace the desk with a sideboard or credenza that matches the dining set. Store the stuff you have on or near your desk in there and use the dining table as your workspace when needed.

Return the subwoofer and get some high quality floor standing left and right speakers. For a small space, a subwoofer really isn't necessary.

My favorite trick? Charging my iphone at the nearest apple store. Easy. And i've been pleasantly surprised at how close i am to them when i need it. 20 minutes of web surfing and you're set for a while. It does look like you are stealing when you leave with your phone though. The safePlug sounds ridiculously stupid.

The standard audio out is a nice thing to hold onto. Apple lost theirs and lost the ability to use it as a source for multi-zone audio.

Why is it that about 8 years after these became a fairly standard way of transferring files is there still a need to physically pug these into a computer? Surely the technology exists to create a bluetooth version that sits on a key chain (for example) without having to plug it in.
