A terrific design presence anchoring the corner of an otherwise plain office strip center. The gravel, pavers and fabric canopy surrounding the crate expand the design realm and give it a polished but unpretentious feeling that distinguishes it from the typical trailer, picnic table & bench venues around Austin. The food is as tasty as the design too.

This looks like a great place to gather before or after shopping or seeing a live music show along SoCo. The colors are festive and the furniture isn't too precious. The indoor/outdoor dining area looks inviting and is a cool place to people watch while you grab a snack.

The design would be better if the stump was hollowed out and became a diffuser.

Disparate Thoughts
If a design doesn't inspire other designers, it has failed as a design.
Whether you call the results of the original a copy, knockoff, derivative work, variation on a theme, remake, a brilliant interpretation, or a fresh update of a classic matters not only in a court of law, but in every aspect of life. Who doesn't recall the tragic death of George Costanza's wife due to toxic envelope glue or the more recent debacle of sulfur laced sheet rock? What rocker hasn't been influenced by Elvis or inspired by Copeland?

The black Kenmore refrigerator-freezer is discreetly tucked away at the end of the dogtrot next to the floor to ceiling window wall. You cannot see it in picture 7 because the unit is recessed in a niche and doesn't have extruded handles. This was intended to focus attention on the view out , which is why one doesn't see light fixtures in the ceiling or art on the walls.

FYI the design & building cost per square foot was between $150-$160, with an emphasis on quality of space and not quantity.

This pavilion is one of my favorite architectural works. While studying architecture abroad in 1986 I happened upon the project while it was under construction. The book matched marble is gorgeous and the craftsmanship throughout is impeccable. It is a building where the vision and craftsmanship are equal to each other and the resulting balance or harmony is astonishing

The love seat is by an Italian company called Palazetti and in 2000 this chair cost about $2325. I have the model with a removable red fabric cover.
